OK, odd one here - the game has been running beautifully since I bought it at 1600x900 with most settings on normal/high. Good solid framerates.

So I went to play this evening, ran the updater which apparently changed 1 file at 15.76mb and now performance is through the floor :( Really piss poor unplayable frame rates on all maps. If I drop all the graphics settings to lowest everything it makes no difference, still really bad.

So I uninstalled and reinstalled the entire game, and its the same issue. Basically unplayable. Considering it was gloriously smooth yesterday and the only thing thats changed is this mysterious file, it would appear to be the cuplrit, so whats gone on? Can this be fixed?

    Cheers

Sorry, I wasn't implying you guys had done anything especially, the changelog hasn't noted anything since the 11th August I believe - but the updater did apparently change 1 file at 15.76mb. So if its not an official update and nothing to do with you guys, what is the file? It is just a curious coincidence that performance degradation came right after this file change.

Somethings gone askew anyway, you'd expect knocking all the graphics settings down to lowest and dropping the resolution would show some improvement in framerates, but its terrible regardless. Maybe it Optimus playing up.

Either way, any thoughts on how I get back to my silky smooth physics awesomeness is appreciated.

Check to make sure your graphics settings haven't been reset by an update replacing it with the standard graphics config file. I have no idea what the 15MB file would actually be, but checking your settings would be a start.

Thanks, a good thought. However, I think this might be Optimus being a dick - I suddenly realised I had no fan noise whilst playing (I've learnt to tune it out now, so I didn't notice initially), so I ran a couple of other games and same issue, terrible framerates and silent fans. I've had this before, so I ran Futuremark which seems to kicks start the card again, then checked with Crysis 3 which was all running ok - tried Beam Drive and lo, all running fine again, complete with hoover fans buzzing away....

So I guess that changed file was just a coincidence! Flipping Optimus

Anyway, thanks for the responses. I love this game.

For some strange reason BeamNG performance has tanked for me in the last few days too, struggling to get 30fps on low, when before i was getting 60fps easy on high, i have changed nothing on my pc and all other games still perform normally.

I'm also having the same problem. I used to be able to run on full easily but now my FPS just drops. When i start a level my FPS is like normal but after a few seconds it starts to drop and just keeps dropping. My GPU usage percent goes down along with the FPS.
