Have you ever been bothered by the fact that BeamNG.drive has no official music? If you look at a score (no pun intended) of classic video games and television from over the years, you may notice that lots of memorable stuff has a catchy tune that sticks in your head and whenever you hear it, you think of whatever it was in.

    Here are some examples:

I am sure many of you remember these.

So my thinking is that BeamNG.drive could have some music. A menu theme perhaps, a different song for each map, one that reflects the environment and overall mood of that map. Each individual car could have it's own short theme song that plays when you select it in the vehicle selector.

If a multiplayer is ever made, music would be nice to set the mood for an online demolition derby or race.

Just as well, if a radio feature is ever created/completed, the theme song for a map could play through the car's radio. The radio could also have a longer list of songs made by the Developers that you can listen to while you drive around.
Getting more into a radio system, it could use common files, like mp3s or WAVs, that way someone could just drop whatever music they wanted into a folder in the Beamng.drive directory, and listen to it in-game on a car's radio.
I don't know how possible all of that is, but it might be a nice addition to the game at some point.

Appearantly it was invented a long time ago and was in tv-series and movies:

Personally, I dislike having music in games, with a few exceptions. But I'd be fine with this idea if there was an option to turn the music off if I didn't like it. One suggestion that's popped up a few times is to have a radio, so there would be several different 'stations' with different genres of music.
BeamNG does have some semi official music. Gabester's music has been used in all the trailers so far (to my knowledge) and one of his song is in the game's credits.

Good idea. I would love music on BeamNG.drive. It could be on the radio! Where you can turn it on/off.

Don't forget the option for those car radio ads that you sometimes hear. Adding that as an OPTION would be realistic. By option I mean that you can turn radio ads on/off in the settings.

Don't bump threads. That barely was held to the topic, and this thread was made a few months ago.
