Why Are They Called Russian Mods?

    So, I've been wondering... Why does everyone call bad mods from other websites "Russian Mods." Just because they are bad doesn't mean that they are made by Russians right?

    So... again, why are they called this?

    Because the websites are Russian. i haven't seen a single bad mod hosting website that isn't Russian.

    Calling them like that is really wrong and discriminatory.
    Mods are mods, they can come from whatever people from whatever nation or ethnicity.
    There are many nice and good people in the russian community, and adding the world 'russian' to the 'lazy-made' mods is not that nice and can be avoided.

    (for correct-ness, I may have called them like that myself too when I wasn't part of the BeamNG staff, and less educated on the matter, and for so I'm sorry)

    I agree with you @Nadeox1, calling them bad quality mods is a lot nicer way to talk about a bad quality mod.

    i actually half of the time prefer the mods from those because it opens a bit of variety and fantasy not that that isnt in the game i mean holy f there is a lot of depth into this but i really dont care if its low quality or not who cares if it is i can enjoy myself for hours with those mods if there is detail then its already a good mod in my opinion i have around 40 or more mods installed and enjoy them everday stop being so hive minded about these kind things rather focus on the positive side of things :D

    Thank you for clearing this up. I personally believe that it is sort of racist to imply that all mods that are bad quality are Russian. I know many Russians on this forum that have contributed to the forums in positive ways.

    I personally will try my best to never call them Russian mods again.

    Well, not all Russian mods are crap, the majority are pretty good, but most times when people say "Russian mod" they are quoting some stuff from Modsgaming.ru, which is a site where mods are copied from legit websites and posted and then Modsgaming.ru gets all the credit, but when Modsgaming.ru makes a mod, it's often full of glitches and has awful poly. and that is why people say Russian mod if it is bad, it's just a racist term in the gaming world
