So, I didn't really know what to call this thread.

I actually have 3 current issues right now. I'm sure they're all connected somehow but I don't really know since I'm pretty bad with tech.

My first issue is that the Steam shortcut for this game is 32 bit. I fixed this issue by importing the 64 bit version into my Steam but it is still weird that Steam used the 32 bit version. Not a big issue but just curious why it happened.

My second issue would be that BeamNG didn't seem to update last time the game updated. It says that it is running 0.5.3.2 but I don't think so. I don't have any of the features that are included in that update. I tried deleting local game content but that did nothing.

My final issue would be FPS. I know this is an EXTREMELY common issue with this game but in my case it's a little different. Here are my specs:

    Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 860 @ 2.80GHz
    GPU: GTX 980
    Operating System: Windows 10 Pro
    RAM: 16 GB DDR3

If you need anything else let me know.

    Screenshots:

This is when I launch the Steam version:

Here is a video showing my FPS issues. They aren't THAT bad but it prevents me from doing things like recording montages on these maps. Also, it's not all maps I have issues on. (One of these is a modded map but I don't think I should be having problems because it's not a big map.

As you can see, the lag continues even when I use 2x slow motion. Even when I use 100x slow motion it still doesn't help.

On the second map, FPS is good until I hit the area with the trees. Why is this?

Any help for any of these problems would be awesome!

    Thank you!

You may have 16 GB of RAM physically installed in your computer, but since you have a 32-bit operating system or version of BeamNG, BeamNG only sees 4 GB max. Other than that, I thought BeamNG only came in 64 bit currently.

I only launched the 32 bit version to show you what happens. I use the 64 bit version when I play.

I do not understand. If it happens in 32 bit but you play in 64 bit, why even show us what happens in the version you don't play?

I just want to know why Steam launches the 32bit version in the first place.

Like I said in the original post. Not a big issue but I just want to know why it happens...

Then ignore it and use 64bit. No big deal. I'm guessing because Steam is in the x86 Program Files folder.

You're lag could be from your graphics card. It looks like you have your settings fairly high and ECU doesn't run well.
Even on a 980 Ti I'll sit around 50-60 FPS on high settings when around the town and other areas.

Is there a way to fix this without having a huge visual impact on the game?

If you have PostFX on you could try turning them off, turn off AA and maybe knock the lighting down one. From testing myself, it won't help all the much but it'll be something.
Not much you can really do to keep nice visuals and high FPS on ECU.

Edit: Also turning off the UI (shift+U) seems to net me around 10 FPS increase.

The issue has been solved. Why are you guys posting? Also, his CPU is fine. It'll run BeamNG better than any dual-core.

Oh, sorry, I thought it was. Well, the two posts I quoted are useless. Lighting settings won't be a problem with a GTX 980. And your CPU is fine. I'm really not sure why you have issues.

Yeah, it's only on certain maps so I will just avoid those maps for the most part.

A bunch of people including myself were having the same issue: poor framerates around relatively populous (in terms of static objects) areas of maps. Nadeox1 PM'd us with information that they've been working on some optimizations for the next updates. Don't know any more than that, but I would expect some sort of boost in the upcoming version.
