I am thinking of getting one for Christmas, but which is better? Keyboard, or USB Xbox 360 controller, (base, not wheel). (I want to drive well in BeamNG)

Xbox Controller would be a nice choice. as steering with it is more stable!

I used a keyboard until I figured out how to get my logitech gamepad working. But before I did that I had already ordered the adapter for my wireless xbox controller. Having used all three I will say that a gamepad (360 controller is best) is much better than a keyboard. A wheel is best though. (I used to have a crappy gameport wheel that I got for free)

Gamepad is better but don't skip the keyboard if you really need a new one (I.E. yours is broken, so old it's that ugly creme color, etc.) If your keyboard is fine then get the gamepad.

Agree with this. A lot of modern PC games will support 360 pads right out of the box. But what good are games if you can't type the website into the box?

Well, with the controller, you can controll how fast you're going without tapping the arrow buttons and the same applies for how much you turn. with a keyboard, you can either go FULL STEAM AHEAD or nothing.

For a driving game like BeamNG, controller of any sort hands down. Well maybe one exception, TM2 Standium is actually just fine with keyboard

An Xbox controller is much easier to use as far as control goes. The issue with using a keyboard is that you cant control how much of the throttle you want to put on, or how strongly of a degree you with to turn the wheels. Alot of the issues people had with swerving and stuff at high speeds is easier to counter with an Xbox controller just because you can let off the gas slightly to keep the rear traction under control. Although if you aren't used to an Xbox controller it may take a little bit of getting used to. However it is definitely worth the money.
