Really this thread is more for the site admins then members, But with don't you add this game to http://www.indiegogo.com or http://www.kickstarter.com to help get the funds? To help make this game possible? Just an idea for the admins to help get the funds and more members looking at there game.
"kisssstart"? The devs have jobs...and they just released Drive, so it's kind of "possible" I don't think the devs need money, they would already have this sort of crowdfunding; or atleast a donation system.
It's probably been opened as a paid alpha to generate money. Perhaps they figured that they wouldn't need the publicity boost that comes with being on a crowd funding website.
