I've been struggling with my framerate.
    i7 5820k
    16 gigs of 3000 mhz DDR4
    GTX960 4 gig
    (balanced system )

I get over 100 FPS on gridmap, but as soon as I get to a map with vegetation, it drops down to below 50 and there are stutters all over the place.
    My settings:
    Windowed 1080p, vsync off
Everything on medium (changing it to very low doesn't help)
    Anisotropic filtering x4
    ALL post processing off
Dynamic reflections set to minimum resolution, maximum detail, 350 meters, faces/update medium

I do this, because I want to have mirrors, but don't care much about other things. Speaking of mirrors... Why isn't the car itself in my mirror?

Disabling dynamic reflections gives me + 20 FPS, but the stutters remain.

Pausing the physics doesn't help, so it's not CPU bound.
I realize the 960 isn't a powerhouse, but this framerate is simply terrible. It has to be capable of more...

What's your hardware temperature while playing?

Nope. GTX 970, maxing out dynamic reflections gets me 50-60 fps in JRI. Torque3D is crap.
    For best graphics/performance:
Set everything to max. Mesh quality to medium. In PostFX enable only SSAO (game look like shit without it). Dynamic reflections, set everything to low values.

Also, unrelated, why the hell would you build a system with a 5820K and a GTX 960.

The 960 isn't mine. I just got it from my friend while I replace my dead card. Warranty over here is... Questionable.

Ah, okay. Anyway. Settings I posted should get you 60+ FPS in maps with lots of vegetation like JRI.
Don't expect good framerates on maps with lots of static meshes though (Industrial, Port). I get drops to 35-45 on those. That's just T3D being crap.

    Can you try this:
Load Gridmap (do not move the camera or the vehicle)
Go to options > gameplay > enable 'Advanced Mode'
In the sidemene there should be a new button named 'PERFORMANCE'
Press it and let the graphs fill the screen.
Press ALT+O and paste the link for the image here.
Go to the BeamNG.Drive directory (Steam/Steamapps/Common/BeamNG.Drive/Bin64) and run the 'banana-bench.x64.bat' file.
When done, take a screenshot and post the link here.

As for dynamic reflections, I noticed that the option that impact performance the most is the resolution and the faces update, especially the last one. Keep this to low (reflections would be updated every 3-4 frames, but the gain in performance is a lot.

    WARNING: Lots of images

    upload_2016-2-21_12-31-5.png
I'm getting pretty good number here. But the problem starts when I move the camera or the vehicle, so I don't think these graphs tell the whole truth.
The same thing with spinning the camera:
And with the camera spinning on Jungle Rock Island
    And now while driving around:

And while driving the ETK800 with the lights on:

Somehow it wasn't that bad this time, there were still some stutters.

Those graphs seems normal to me.
Can't see any stutter from them, apart the waving lines when you spin the camera, which is normal.
