I bet this is what it will look like when you crash your truck in BeamNG in 2 years....Just a little more particle physics and a supercomputer. http://9gag.com/gag/aL2g7xM I think the devs could make it, certainly with next gen computing power.
There's no reason why a crash like this one wouldn't be possible in BeamNG now. Problem is that parts of vehicles can't really break apart into smaller parts, or get crumpled and torn like they do in that GIF. I don't know what's coming in two years, but the complexity of what's in the GIF is going to be hard to reach.
first of... are you saying beamng drive is going to be "finished" and stop updating and stuff in 2 years??.. and i know beamng will be different in 2 years... lets throw that out there, but look crashing the d 15 has changed very little in 4 years since beamng drive released its first techdemo and it really doesnt crash much different now... i mean im hoping it will.. but i have alot of doubt that it will be anything like the gif... but if it was... OH IF it was...
No I'm not saying the game will be finished in 2 years and I'm hoping they will continue improving the game, but as you said: OH IF it was, that'd be awesome
wow so thankfull game wont stop updating in 2 years... it just raised a question and better to ask then to wonder...
Yes and No. Yes the cars could crash just like the gif but the computer today could not handle all that action, in the gif there are panels flying off and the truck is near sheared in half. to duplicate that in game it would take many more jbeams. BeamNG can do that now but most computers now can't really handle all that action in real time, it would be closer to a crash simulator that would have to compile it while you wait for a few hours. The only limiting factor of BeamNG right now is hardware. But to answer your original question, not in two years maybe closer to 3 years I think enthusiast computers would reach that level.
