It would be cool if there was a camera mode that stayed at a fixed position, then rotated as the car drives past, such as one of the camera modes in Rigs of Rods. This would allow us to make much smoother cinematic videos.
It would probably take a lot of work, but even if it just happened for hirochi raceway set up like its being filmed for a televised race as an official camera "angle", it would be awesome
I made this a while ago. Basically, It's an external set of nodes represent a camera that's able to rotate around the Z-axis (and abit on the X-axis). It uses camera nodes that are placed, using slide nodes, on beams which connected to the chassis by beams that have 0 spring and 0 damping except for two beams that are made soft enough to rotate the camera smoothly on its axes . Though, the problem is that this "internal camera" rotates as the vehicle rotates and ignores those camera nodes(they are facing the vehicle but still rotates facing the direction that the front of the vehicle is facing) due to the "ref node" direction. The only way I was able to make it work is by making the "ref node" as the "Internal camera". However, that ruined the other cameras that came with the vehicle.
