Anyone else think this forum is turning to S***

No amount of shitposting is going to change my love of these forums, period. I use the report button
when I occasionally give a shit. I am just glad my tolerance for imbecility is adequate.

As Doullpepper and others have noted, we live in a new world of electronic lawlessness and in
my opinion, the human race as a whole continues it's great experiment in de-evolution.

Btw Mr.Doullpepper, each and every Adderall ridden kindergarten spaz map that is created
is another boulder that lifts Altitude further into the stratosphere

 

Terribly sorry, but I must take issue with this part. The posts complaining about "this car looks like" are more annoying than the posts themselves.

As for the this issue, I don't think it's that bad. Honestly, I don't care about the "state" of the forum, I come here to answer questions, have questions answered, download mods and see development progress (and discussions, they're good too). As long as one can do these things, the forum is functional and everything else is smalltalk.

Most of the problematic posts come from children, it's painfully obvious when you're under the age limit (and more importantly, under maturity). It's when they start a thread boasting about a mod they have no idea how to make, or they complain that the game doesn't have nascars/magic/star wars/nukes, or they try to be backseat moderators and end up just being hostile ultracrepedians.

All in all, I don't think the "forum is turning to s***", I think it's just an place with ups and downs, and perhaps people should focus more on the game and why they're posting.

I like to spend time on different forums, have a discussion and so on. And I like forums that doesn't feel like kindergarten.

 

Yeah, I agree. I should have added discussions, lots of brainy people on this forum so discussions are good.

 

Starting sometime in august you can see that I don't post as much anymore; It is partly due to the horrid shitposting going around,and that I'm busy with other things.

My thoughts on what is going to happen: Eventually the forum will be overrun by whiny,idiotic,little brats who do nothing but throw tantrums and spam,Honestly eventually this forum is going to end up like ROR forum in the future if we don't do anything about the whiny little brats.
We've got to implement a system making it harder for one to register,such as a questionnaire on what to do and what not to do,an admin will then review that and will decide whether the person is eligible to register.

 

Well, hey, I'm pretty new to the forums, and already I see... Many things.

Hopefully my posts don't demonstrate immaturity to an extant. Overachieving, maybe.

I don't know if the forums have experienced any sort of decrease in quality; they've been filled with intolerance, immaturity, and impatience for years now. It certainly gives the impression of a very unfriendly community. Not everyone, obviously, acts as such, but polite remarks are seldom seen.

Overall. I do find it's getting alot harder to enter any section of the forums without having to wipe shit off my boots, I do think the average IQ displayed (not possessed, displayed, shown, maybe the prolific spammers are secret geniuses that can't work a forum) is falling.

But what can we do about it. Nothing but do as tdev says, report that which truly does seem to violate the sanctity of the forums or move on.

This forum seems to be connected to the internet... There's your problem.

Maybe if the offending users were restricted to one post per page and only able to reply to one quote per page especially in screenshots. Might be a good start?. This could be put in place as somewhere between sh-t-posting and banned for users that abuse the privilege.

There needs to be clear definitions put in place of what can be regarded as "sh-t posting" or "spam".
(There kinda already is but sh-t posters are too busy to read them obviously)

Please discuss how much of a good or bad idea this is.

 

I think thats a great idea, since it would greatly reduce the amount of spam posts etc. Another good idea (imo) would be something like a thread reviewing thing, which would prevent useless threads (such as false bug reports etc) from even existing in the first place.

 

I think a thread creation limit should be put in place. 3 maybe?

Obviously there shouldn't be a limit on mod submissions past verification

 

Do we have a infraction system on this forum?,I know the RoR forum does (simple and effective..)

Keep on breaking rules constantly more infractions
(three or more, infractions banned for a week).

2nd warning
another 3 infractions banned for a month.

Infractions expire..

Third warning (3 more infractions)

banned for 2 months
Infractions expire..

4th warning and final warning (3 more infractions)
permanently banned

Yes, it wouldn't "stop them" from "shit posting" but they will think twice before they post and it will make them think (if they do get banned 1 or multiple times) to read the rules and follow them, if not no forum privileges for you.
