new speakers; I can shake the room I can make items on my desk vibrate I can have a virtual surround setup Makes the music I don't listen to sound much better Makes the low quality mono sound effects from this game and others sound so much better Makes the windows sounds effects blare across the house will definitely be deafened by these speakers at some point in the close future why
It's a bit embarrassing, but I've been gaming with apple earbuds for years (with the exception of a few months wherein I tried to stomach a headset) and have had next to zero problems. I just consecutively tried two separate headsets (HyperX Cloud II and Sennheiser Game One) and couldn't stand either- both had shitty microphones and the earpads made my ears itch. Plus I couldn't perceive a different in audio quality between either headset and the earbuds. Grrrr... I think I might just buy a Yeti for recording and skyping and keep using earbuds. What headsets do you guys use..?
I avoid all headsets if possible. If I absolutely need to use a headset, I use a set of Air Canada disposable headphones from 2004. Earbuds make me feel... claustrophobic? I am not an audiophile and I can't tell the different between $400 sennheisers and my Air Canada specials so I'm at no position to speak. That said, avoid Beats by dre like the plague. Overpriced and all looks, just bass and nothing else
I binge-watched the latest Top Gear available on Netflix tonight. It made me want to cry. They've doubled down on their obscenity and inanity, started to let really bad swearing get through, all the creativity and freshness and most of the hilarity have just... evaporated, to be replaced by forced idiocy and more juvenile, obscene humor than a junior high school. They've been going downhill for the last few seasons (and nuked all the best ones off Netflix, for some reason), but this is the worst by far. It's like they were parodying themselves, and doing an incredibly bad job. The humor and, in at least two cases, production values are more along the lines of what I'd expect from a crummy YouTube video made by a 14 year old on a nonexistent budget. It's like they're not even trying, just phoning in cheap "laughs" for the lowest possible common denominator. At times, the episodes were on the verge of becoming physically painful. I'm seriously considering not even bothering to finish the series, it's that bad. In the end, an all-new crew may well be what Top Gear needed (haven't seen anything of them yet), though I suspect just getting rid of Clarkson would have solved a lot of problems.
Personally i dont enjoy wearing over ears headphones either. On my desktop i use a Logitech z-5500 5.1 speaker system. Then if i need to use headphones i use my Yamaha EPH-100 IEM's. The Logitech speakers are pretty ok in terms of quality and have enough bass to shake the sofas at the opposite side of the room on movie nights. The Yamaha EPH-100's are really nice, the sound quality is pretty amazing. When used in a recording session with a SE1A matched pair of microphones i found myself getting confused because of the whole hearing as if your ears were on fixed poles while i was rotating my head effect. So i can totally endorse these as a quality pair of IEM's that sound great for music etc. I haven't really used them much at all with gaming, but I imagine they will give you a very good gaming experience in terms of audio quality and stereo separation.
While the argument against it from the point of whether it truly adds to the entertainment is quite valid, your point?
My point is, the took the worst part of the show, the one that made me wonder if it was even morally acceptable to watch at one point, and made it worse for no good reason - as I said, just to appeal to the lowest common denominator. If the BBC has given up to the point where they are actually trying to attract the kind of immature, mindless people who think Top Gear would really be better with more uncensored F- and S-bombs and more genitalia jokes, Top Gear just needs to be dumped, because there is no hope for it.
I more meant your point against the crude language. I'm sure a moral upstanding citizen can stand to hear such language without quaking in his boots. Even from a pure bible puritan standpoint, meh, its them going to hell not you, so on that note I feel much obliged to drop an F bomb now, in the peace of my own home.
Are you sure you're watching the same thing? Top Gear is/was about taking the piss (pun intended), the phrase 'oh cock', and calling cyclists wankers, with a hint of car show sprinkled in.
It's been a while, but I think this 0.5 update has me interested in the game again. I enjoy the new goodies.
So Origin has this new extension for it's client that crashes every time it appears on my desktop. I have to terminate Origin through the Task Manager to remove it.

9 days till I head out from Edmonton to Calgary for a Deorro, Sander van doorn, dvbbs concert. 4 hour drive, hopefully the weathers good, and it will be my car's first time long distance on the highway. Hopefully she runs well, gonna have to stock up on, extra oil, coolant, transmission fluid. Honestly I'm looking really forward to the concert, but I'm so pumped for the drive. I could sit and drive for 12 hours and enjoy it.
