cannot open the tech demo (SOLVED)

I just downloaded the Tech demo for drive yesterday and cannot seem to get it to open.I have a HP Pavilion G6 laptop,it isn't a good gaming computer at all but I can run GTA4 on it so theoretically I should be able to run this.Anyways, here is the two errors I get.I would like to get this to work as it would be a good excuse to buy the alpha version on my desktop. Thanks

    error 1-- err1.png

    error2-- err2.png

I do have the latest Directx for my computer and I have tried reinstalling in compatibility mode.still wont open.

Are you sure you have dx9 too?
By default only dx10/11 is preinstalled on windows vista and above.
