Here is a place where you can talk about your favorite professional sports!. You can give daily, weekly, or just random updates on your favorite sports teams, Please stick to pro or semi pro sports legues, but other than that, have fun!
Note: This isn't a place for motorsports discussion; you can talk about anaerobic pro games such as billiards or poker if you wish, but I'm not sure if anyone seriously follows them...
I am from Michigan, and I follow Michigan Baseball, Football, and Hockey. (Kinda wish there was an MLS team here; I would prefer soccer over the dismal Pistons....)
As for Baseball, the Detroit Tigers had a very disappointing season this year. With their great roster, I was expecting more.
Football ('Murican Style!): Our beloved Lions are 0 and 4 this year...though there was an unfair call at the end of last week's game. I am also a fan of the Michigan Wolverines (college team for you Britishers and Aussies), but don't especially like the Michigan State Spartans.
Hockey: The Red Wings open today, and are currently winning 4-0.

Quick explanation: Hockeytown = Detroit, which is in southeast Michigan, and the Capital of Fudge = Mackinac, which is at the northern tip of Michigan. That should explain my location.

What is going on around your area? Don't worry if you don't understand American sports like Baseball if you live in Europe or Australia; you can turn the tables by talking about Rugby...

Kansas City here. I generally don't follow baseball very closely, but the Royals have been doing great recently.

About the Tigers we have been spoiled the last few years seeing them in first in our division the whole year. It was weird this year seeing us fall back and back throughout the year. Right now I am watching game one of the NLDS and saw the American league play earlier wishing it was the Tigers:(

Ah I see we are rivals;)

    EDIT:

Also in Back to The Future 2 they said something about the Cubs winning the World Series in 2015. The Cubs haven't been in the playoffs in years and haven't made it to the World Series since 1945 and lost. The fact that they made it to the playoffs this year is already cool and if they make it to the World Series and win I will be blown away that a movie in 1989 predicted who will win the World Series this year:D

Well I guess your waiting has finally paid off. Well, good luck to them in the playoffs.

Except people do play billiards as a sport...

I can think of no good reason to discriminate pool, snooker and billiards as not being a sport yet allowing the chasing of a little soccer ball across a field like a pet dog

Ok, I'll allow it. My thinking at the beginning was that nobody really cares about Billiards. I guess I'm wrong.

Tennessee played Georgia yesterday. You are talking about football, right?
The Wolverines won 38 - 0 yesterday. Jim Harbaugh has really turned this team around.
    Red Wings won yesterday, too.

Are any of you from the UK going to to Wembley Stadium to see the NFL? You may like it...There will be a Jacksonville vs Buffalo on the 25th, and Detroit vs Kansas City on November 1st.

    Shit.
I watched the game, knew it was Georgia and somehow put Florida.

Well, Tennessee had a close win against Florida a few weeks ago.
Lions lost...again...:( (These emotes sure are expressive)
However, Jim Harbaugh is working wonders with the Wolverines; they won 38 - 0 on Saturday.

Colts fan here myself. Pretty excited to see what will happen this season. Hopefully Luck will kill it against the Pats.

Just curious, were you angry when the Colts let go of Manning, or do you prefer Luck? He's done pretty well so far.

Buffalo fan here... Here's to hoping the Bills can keep winning and the Sabres too. Bills (3-2) gotta play the undefeated Bengles Sunday. Hope it's not another win one week lose the next cycle as has been so far this season.

As for the Sabres they looked great in their last game against Columbus. We Like Eich, We like Eich! Jack is gonna be one hell of a player for us now and in years to come. His GWG in the last game was absolutely stunning.

    Heck of a play.

I was never really mad. It was certainly sad to see him leave the team, but I understand why that did it. Ultimately it was the right decision. So far Luck has played amazingly (excepting this season so far) and has broken many of Manning's records already. I can't wait to see where Luck will take the Colts.

Anybody see the Rangers vs Blue Jays game yesterday? The Texas shortstop, Elvis Andrus made 3 errors, three plays in a row. He must be feeling pretty bad right now.
Red Wings are 3 and 0 so far. Maybe ONE Detroit team will have a good season this year........

A little late but that game had the most crazy 7th inning I've ever seen.

Sorry for the (kind of) bump, but are any of you people in England going to see the Detroit Lions vs Kansas City Chiefs football game? They're playing in London.
