I also want to thank Gabe and the team for the SBR4, I too wasn't 100% sure about the design at first, but I trust Gabe, his designs always deliver in the end, and this was no exception

Just to point out a few things, the rear seats are a bit spiky on crashes, and the front ones aren't helping much either. Also, a bit of weirdness in the dash when crumpled as well:



But besides the typical issues like any other new car, again, lovely work! Can't stop driving it, it definitely feels like a truly modern car.

 

if there isnt a rally version in the works, there should be. i was driving the sb4r around bajarama, and it worked better than any and everything else i have driven. balance feels perfect through corners

 

The SBR4 gets sideburns after these kind of crashes... Its funny though to see this

 

Just going to say, I love this car.
I was one of those who was looking forward to the SBR4 for a long time, despite all the people ragging on it, and it certainly has not disappointed.

Any chance of getting some LSDs for the front and rear, was trying to drive without stability control but the inside wheels kept spinning.

This is my favorite car both in looks and handling. Originally it was too understeery for me but I eventually found myself liking the car's balance. The aesthetic of the car reminds me of a newer Audi vehicle, which I like as well. My uncle own an Audi R8 and it's a nice looking car.

 

Why is it a Shooting Brake? I always thought that a Shooting brake is a two-doored Station wagon....... Seems like my sight of the world is moving around again.

 

Fastbacks have an uninterrupted sloping roofline from the trailing edge of the windscreen to the rearmost bound of the body. Think Fastback Mustang, Karmann Ghia, Caddy Series 62, and technically the Chrysler Airflow, among many others.

A shooting brake is characterised by the wheelbase of a sedan, the cabin of a coupé, and hints of station wagon proportions. SBR4 is a shooting brake because of these traits, and crucially from the clear transition between roofline and hatch area. If the rear were to be extended slightly to have a horizontal section after the glass hatch, it would become a liftback. Car anatomy is weird.

Not sure if its been mentioned but the brakes in the SBR4 seem to be fairly crippled by the ABS system or the brakes themselves.
I did this test with the SBR4 and the Covet to show the difference in braking effectiveness. This is also with the covets wheels being fully locked up.
