My very first terrain, in early WIP. Most of the objects in this terrain are from the GridMap terrain, because I used the GridMap as the base. Then I deleted ALL of the objects and textures and then did this. I will probably release a beta within the next week, so stay tuned! :) Here are some screenshots:

Enjoy the screenshots, they took a whole 5 minutes to upload. (Whoever knows how long the final result will take)

Cancelled since the terrain will no longer load on my PC, even the backups.

Thanks! I would beta release it today or tommorrow, but I can't figure out how to make it visible in the terrain loader. Maybe I could PM you the zip so you could see what's wrong?

Thanks! That's a good idea, most likely there will be one in the final release.

Re: Grassy Hills (Help me and get an early alpha!)

I will help, most likely, if you want.
I think you will probably have to rename the .mis, forest and decals files to the name of your map or something (like: grassyhils)
So, the files should look like this: grassyhils.mis, grassyhills.forest, and grassyhills.mis.forest, or something like that. Also, open the info.JSON file and change the things to what ya want.
Hope this helps, and actually works.
Nice progress, at the moment, looking good.

Now it can't even load and recognise any objects, including all the other copies I have on my hard drive (even the backup). Now it's just a floating parking lot. :(

I'll start making a simple desert terrain instead. Thank you for your advice, though. I will use it in my next terrain.

I was able to load it after the update but somehow after that load it doesn't work. Anyhow, I'm working on a simple desert terrain right now, and when I drive on the decal road, the car kicks up dust as if it is off road. Any idea on how to fix this? dust.png

I prefer decal roads over mesh roads since decal roads flow with the terrain unlike the mesh roads that cut right through it.

Paint the terrain under the decal road asphalt or rock.

Are you copying back the changed files from the cache files in documents?

Are you working from the mods folder or steamapps?

No, I haven't had anything to do with the cache. I've been saving my WIP terrains in both those folders and opening them via the terrain editor.

Does your map show up in the map selector screen? There is a whole bunch of technical stuff you need to
do here. Simply saving the map won't work unfortunately.

No, probably because I won't put it into a zip until I release it.
