Perhaps this has already been suggested to some degree, but what if you disable the ability to download from the forums until you've registered? I don't see a downside but I'm sure I'm missing something.
"Russian Mods" are not banned. Any mod is allowed to be posted here, preferably from the author of the mod, with proper credits if some parts of the mod are taken from other sources. But if one just downloads a mod from another sites and post it here, without him being the actual author, then that's another 'story'.
Well pirated copies do help sometimes because people who download it might have fun and buy the game for updates
I feel strange. I didn't pay JUST for the game. I paid because I wanted access to the community and the mods without having to rely on other sources (pirate ones). Now leechers are going to penetrate on forums and stuff, now this community is going to be full of fake accounts and people that just don't care with each other. It's just like World of Warcraft, being a paid game means no trolls and other stuff. Again, just my opinion Also, check this out: Alpha_Access "You also get exclusive access to a section of the forum where you can talk directly to the devs and report bugs, suggest features, etc. The exclusive forum section also contains 3rd-party content, including vehicles and terrains."
When you buy the game you actually pay for the software. The forum 'exclusive access' was a thing at the time being. The forum is a service apart. But you are right, it was written on the purchase page, which was a mistake. Anyway don't worry, as I said to another guy here, for you people, nothing changes. You can still browse the forum, ask for help, join the thousand of discussion, browse and download mods. For the fake accounts and people trying to get into trouble here, that's part of our role to maintain this place clean.
You shouldn't be able to do that, don't you think its a little bit wrong to take something someone paid for then give it out for free? I could care less about my $20, but it just doesn't seem right to do that. I shouldn't argue but I feel as if its a valid point.
So you don't want anyone to have what you have, just because you thought you paid to get it? I find your stance on this a bit egocentric. Stuff change, it's not if as they are giving out the game for free (which was what you really paid for), if that was the case I'd agree. This forum decision was made with good intentions to make the best of an unfortunate situation. There's moderators here that'll maintain the place, and they might expand if needed. I really don't see the problem with this.
