Re: Matrix Freeway Yep, same here, unable to find it in game, this has happened with quite a few other mods aswell.
Re: Matrix Freeway The corner was in a version I was working on with Ghost187, I did the objects he did the map. Something kinda happened and Occam's Razor beat us to it. Oh well, stuff happens... I do like OR's version though, great work on the endless highway style. Maybe a little more atmosphere would polish it off nicely.
Re: Matrix Freeway I copy the entire zip to the mods folder in documents and then unzip it from there to the contents/levels folder in the main Steam folder. Works for me every time.
Re: Matrix Freeway see thats way complicated, even though it isnt, since previously you could just drop a folder into the levels or vehicles folder and bam, there is your car or level....now it seems a lot more intricate, what is the reasoning behind that?
Re: Matrix Freeway It really, really isn't complicated. Documents/BeamNG.drive/mods place zip in here, but zip should have this hierarchy: mod_name.zip V levels / vehicles V mod_name V "contents of the mod" Done.
Re: Matrix Freeway Well, it's an alpha build for starters and the whole structure of things will change as new things are discovered. It's really not that complicated if you just decide to accept the fact that questioning all this won't get anyone anywhere. Trust me, I tried. Lets not derail this thread on the subject....mkay?
Re: Matrix Freeway Previously you could drop it in a place where you could risk total game corruption, now you drop it in a place that takes a ton less typing, and can add/remove default mods without reinstalling your entire game. I really don't see how that's complicated. DM Out.
Re: Matrix Freeway It looks like a great map..... but when i download it and put it in Documents>BeamNG.drive>mods>levels it doesnt show up. It used to show up but didn't work. I am using a windows 8. I don't know whats happening.
Never tell me I don't take suggestions... The freeway now has corners! Four curves at a 256-meter radius should make for quite a few potential accidents for those too hard on the throttle. Moreover, AI pathing is fully fleshed out; I look forward to seeing some thrilling car chases on Youtube. And I now have a distant urban background. All this comes at a cost, however, as I had to cut the freeway length near in half. Remember to delete your cache, and Enjoy!
As much as I enjoy this latest update, I kind of feel like I miss the old version with how long it was. The corners seem to just slow down what I plan to do, and although they are a nice touch, I would rather have the old version back. Unfortunately, me being as dumb as I am, deleted the old map for this new updated version and now am left without the original. Would anyone happen to still have it on hand who would willingly send me the file? That would be great! Thanks!
I'm too lazy to look, but this should be it. Be aware that this will conflict with the newer version.
Re: Matrix Freeway you are missing a 'levels' folder inside your zip (if you open it you see 'matrix_freeway') you'd need to create a levels folder and put matrix_freeway in that, then zip that (the levels folder.) then it works without extracting it, just copy to mods folder only. Curve adds an interesting dimension, although probably only needed one curve, not two. your level does need some ends on your freeway. just have the lane circle around back to the other side so you can return to the start.
