No, it looks like a Pessima.

    - - - Updated - - -

Actually, there's also the 1989 Pessima, so the 200BX and Pessima were introduced the same year.

nah it would of been released in 1976 since it was based on the Honda accord which was released in that year or 1988 since the front looks like a Nissan Cefiro of the late 90s.

It doesn't have to be released the same exact year as the car that it takes styling cues from. I'd bet that it was released in the mid-80s, with the 89 being the first year of the second generation.
But idk it's up to gabe to come up with all of this.
I don't see this car handling very well, but I don't see it handling like a boat either. I bet it'll be a big load of "meh" to drive. We might see some sort of sport model with slightly better handling, which would be interesting.

maybe Gabe will surprise us with a late 70s pessima and/or a 70s covet (to show how crash protection has changed over the years)

Very much looking forward to this car, keep up the great work! :)

Also I hope that the ingame friction code will get a serious overhaul, before being released.

I'd like to congratulate the devs on the release of another eggcellent BeamNG vehicle. The overall (period correct) design, engineering, deformation, and driving dynamics are realistic bordering freaky.

    But I have a complaint.

You can't fart in this car.

The rear window is moved down assuming the door can accommodate it all the way to the quarter panel, which it doesn't, so the window would be a few inches further up. The type of window illustrated is best-case scenario, as a lot of windows project downwards at the far edges to meet the scissor assembly for the winding mechanism. The easiest way to remedy this would be to straighten the curved trailing end of the window and window frame, and run it parallel to the b pillar, giving the window a squared-off shape.

The widest part of the front window is the horizontal line from the top of the side mirror trim to the b pillar, meaning the window is geometrically impossible to wind down. Ideally, the mirror trim, glass, and underlying rail would run near parallel to the door frame pitch such that the widest point of the window is where it meets the top of the door, as demonstrated by this lovely 1995 series Audi A4 front door glass.

It's probably much too late to change the design now, but there are also some niggly little mistakes here and there I spotted on my quick once-over

Again, fantastic work and congratulations guise!

what do you mean I farted in it and I managed to stink out the whole car and piss off the passengers. oh back on topic I seem to see some Nissan maxima in the design of the car.

Quite satisfied with the Pessima. Very good interpretation of a mid-priced Japanese 4-door from the 90s. (By this I mean it's flimsy, floaty and slow with a lethargic automatic transmission that likes to shift early at anything less than full throttle)

For some reason, the rear suspension is a bit wonky: the rearmost I-beam-shaped links bend rather than rotating on their pivot point.

@Zappymouse: the rear windows don't open all the way in many family cars from this era. The 03 Subaru Legacy's rear windows didn't roll down completely, presumably so your toddler/dog can't jump out the window.

By the way, the radio has Elton John playing on it.

    Back to the bendy suspension:

    I. Freaking. Love. This. Car. IRL, my DD is a 2004 Kia Optima LX 2.7 with the AutoStick. This thing, handling-wise and even the torque curve of the 2.7L V6 is SPOT on to my Kia. I've definitely been guilty of throwing my Optima down a gravel road or two and speeding through the country (I live on the very edge of an outskirt suburb of Chicago and make frequent trips to southwestern Illinois) and the way the Pessima responds to being hurled corner-first into a bend at too high a speed for the tires is so true-to-life it's almost scary. Actually, it is scary when I mess up or get caught in the wrong gear and fling it into a tree and the 34 remaining payments flash before my eyes. Even the interior of the Pessima is close to my car.

Yeah, my car doesn't roll all the way down either. Though the rear wheel well isn't in the way... It just stops at about 80% of the way down.
    2014-Cadillac-CTS-Sedan-2.0L-Turbo-4dr-Rear-wheel-Drive-Sedan-Photo-2.jpg (MS paint, FTW!)
Though there could be other stuff that is in the way I didn't account for. It's late and I'm tired, my brain isn't exactly in top working condition right now.
I got over it eventually, especially since I'm never in the back of my car, and you can't roll down windows in the game... :(
That is going to bother me from now on though.

That problem could be easily, at least partially, remedied by making it so you can't roll the rearmost 3rd or 4th of the window down.
A lot of cars do it, not really sure what the technical name for it is.

My car's rear windows are like that, but the doors are long enough that they can roll all the way down. That can mainly be attributed to it being such a large car though.

Are you guys for real? I'm talking about the rear window winding down a few inches at best, and the front window being impossible to roll down at all. I'm well aware of the geometrical limitations of rear doors and windows. :/

The aforementioned change would still fix the problem.
It's exactly what you recommended, straightening off the trailing end of the window to be parallel with the b pillar, but by shortening the rolling part of the window down to be squared off instead of shortening the whole thing.
