Fps isn't the same

ok so i got the game like a week ago and i was playing on the highest settings till today, idk why but even on the lowest settings i only get 10 fps. any help pls

 

Check to make sure your powerplan is set to "high performance".

Otherwise, try pausing the physics in game (press "j") and seeing if that improves it. If so, there is some load on your CPU it would seem.

you see that is the thing is that it is set to high performance and when i press j the fps doesn't change and when i run the game the cpu usage is around 10%

 

That's odd. I honestly have no idea what the problem could be then. At first it sounded like you may have had some process putting load on your hardware, but what you say now doesn't make that sound right... Hopefully someone else knows what it could be.

what it does sometimes is start the map off with 100+ fps till i start driving then it drops to under 10fps and that is on the lowest settings, when i got the game i ran it at 100+ fps on high settings with ai spawned in. so that is why it makes no sense to me

 

Do your frames drop as soon as you start driving? Or after 20-30 seconds or a minute?

I've heard about problems with frames for others after they start driving around for about 30 seconds, and then it usually goes back to normal for 30 seconds after a minute or so.

I have no idea if anyone's with that problem's been able to fix it and how, but it doesn't sound like you have that issue anyway...

 

what it does is the fps is good around 40fps till i press on the gas. it drops and never picks up again.

 

Is it a laptop, what are the temps?

 

Yes it is a laptop and i figured it out. i had to mess with the nvidia settings because something wasn't set up properly
