Meh. It may or may not help, but it's not gonna hurt it. Just let it sit overnight with the battery disconnected. Should do it. I bidded on, hopefully, what will be my vehicle come 2:55 pm EST on Tuesday. Tree hunna dolla
It won't sell for just 300. Lowest I'd imagine is ~600. I doubt it'll make it to 1k, based on the bidding so far. It might, though. Idk. 1k is still way less than it's worth. You can pretty much steal these cars at government auctions. If you repainted it, and attacked the interior with clorox wipes and a shop vac, you could easily sell it for 3000. I was talking to a guy at the surplus lot that does exactly that. Said he flipped something like 15 last year alone. I just want to make this one my reliable daily driver. After I've done that I'd like to buy and '04 or '05 to flip. You can pick up pre-2006 cars with terribly chipping paint for 500 bucks easy.
well... I found out it burns oil. It has been about 6 ,months since I bought it, and I decided to check the oil today. First time since I got the oil changed when I bought it. Stupid, I know, but I just never thought about it. the dipstick was very close to being completely dry. luckily I caught it when I did, because as of now my car still runs and drives just fine, now that ive put 3 more quarts of oil in, but god that would have destroyed me if I seized the engine. I would've had to scrap it. Hopefully Ill only need to put in a quart every 1000 miles, but Ill surely be checking it every other day from now on. It does not smoke in the slightest though, which is a good sign. had multiple people assure me no smoke whatsoever comes from the tailpipe when i rev her. and It definitely does not leak, either. no spots on my street or driveway.
I think we figured that out.... even though water (coolant) is needed for its mechanics to not shit. hmm.
Air cooled and oil cooled engines exist Think the difference is simply that the coolant is sealed away in a water cooled motor, its not leaking all over your electronics. Personal opinion that would conflict with potatos, take a look at the MAF. MAF is of course responsible for measuring the airflow into the engine so the ECU knows how much fuel to meter into it. Take a more careful listen to the engine, if its cranking but you cant actually hear any combustion, its possible the MAF is not registering any airflow and therefore the ECU is not injecting fuel. Or hook up a code reader.
IT RUNS! It's not the MAF, but I think a hose for ventilation came off, I put it back on, and it started. Dad doesn't think it's that, but who else thinks it is?
Entirely possible; it's just like a giant vacuum leak. I disconnected one intake hose on the Subaru a while ago. It started and revved up, but died when you let off the throttle. Reconnected it, and it worked just fine. Airflow metrics are super important for correct operation of an engine, if worst comes to worst you can just unplug all intake related sensors to force the ECU into limp mode. It'll just run on static known good values programmed from the factory.
Had to take my radiator out. big crack in the plastic (plastic? wtf gm). gotta wait till payday to get a new one. thats not plastic. 01 gmc sonoma sls 4x4.
GM for ya. Got out bidded last night. Someone bumped it up to $350. He remains the top bidder as of now. Gonna wait until the end to place my (hopefully) winning bid.
