Questions for the devs or anyone that knows the answers.

Hello all,


I have some questions for the devs about the tech demo.


1) Why isn't the fps changing?


I play the game on 800x600 rez on 75 hz with these options(look at the picture). In game i have 15-16 fps with the 4x4 D15. But when i change the setings to lowest, the fps in game is the same.... The graphics change radicaly but the fps is the same. Is it a bug or thats how the tech demo works?(i want to say that the hdr, ssao etc from the left panel all on off)


2) Can i disable the shadows?


Can i disable them in the demo? I want to see if there is any performance improvement. If yes, how? And, if not, why?


3) Any tips to improve the fps?

I have the same problem,but I have an i7 @2.2ghz.

 

Disable SSAO in the post procces effects tab on the main menu options. pretty much doubled my FPS.

 

My fps stays at 17,regardless of settings,very high,lowest,still 17 fps,with a quad core cpu and a gtx 560.

 

PC: 1.86 ghz cpu intel core 2 duo, gpu: geforce 8600 fatality edition with 256 mb memory and 128 bits, 3.5 gb ram DDR 2 1033 mhz


Laptop(on my laptop i have the same setings as in that picture, rez 1240x768, and i have 25 fps constant and the same as the pc it dosen't matter if i lower them...) specs: 2.3 ghz pentium dual core, gpu nvidia geforce 601m 1 gb on 64 bits, 4gb of ram DDR3 1333 mhz. On the laptop the game says that is runing on the integratet gpu. I forced it in nvidia control panel to play on the dedicated gpu but the setings say its still runing on intel hd(no diference in fps) So i don't know if it's running on the intel gpu or nvidia. Edit: I think it was allready plaing on the nvidia card becouse i forced it to play on the integratet gpu an the fps was 15 with the same setings

Edit2: I discovered something wierd... when i play the geme with the d15 normal the cpu is used at 75-80 % but whn i play the gema with the striped version the cpu is used 85-93%. So for the car tht has less things to deform the cpu is used more(and i got with the striped, with the same setings, about 38 fps....) I will o the same test on the laptop and i will repor if there is any diference No such thing on the laptop(its used about 70-75% no mater what car)....(on the laptop i need to turn off the shadows to get more fps but i don't know how...)

I would realy like to buy the full alpha but if my fps dosen't chance i won't(until i buy a new pc... and that will take awhile )

As i said everything from the left panel is disabled.

 

Your processor seems to be some of the problem,but what do I know? I'm getting terrible fps with an i7 quad core!

I've put the game on lowest posible options on my laptop with 960x480 res and when i press j with the normal d15 the fps goes from 25 to 50, but with the striped version only 2(from 66 to 68).... I guess i have to wait until i buy a new pc

Will a procesor like this be able to play beamng drive?(it plays crysis 3 on medium with 32 fps rez 1280x1024) AMD A8-6600K(its an apu so it has a integrated gpu i don't think i will have the money to buy a dedicated gpu)
