he deleted it because he thought gabester was saying that HIS textures cause performance issues (he didn't, even after gabester told him multiple times that he didn't mean tom's textures) then he dissapeared and was never seen again (tom, not gabester obviously) at least i think that's why
Your concern and respect is admirable. The fact is that he did release this stuff to the public and it is therefore public. Tom's stuff was and is kickass and I think if you just credit him as if he was still around would be just fine. I'm not aware of any special stipulations he placed on his stuff before nuking out. Merely an opinion.
Its not all Ford Falcons , Holden Commodores & Mitsubishi Lancers tho. We do have our embarrassing cop cars. (Hyundai Sonata & Toyota Camry)
We have about the same scenario over here model wise but we DO NOT, repeat DO NOT have cop cars painted up like that. The police forces in the US are more concerned with portraying a dark, menacing and authoritarian image. I would absolutely love it if some police force around here decided to lighten the fuck up and have some fun with the paint schemes. Maybe the hair trigger bastards would smile a bit more.
yes but you guys dont take the title from the uk 1.4astra diesel a fucking SMART ! 2.0 vectra < i quite like that car any many other low HP cars we do have a few lancers and stuff tho
UK police cars are no where near as bad as you seem to be making out. While there are astra's, vectra's and mondeos (ford fusion to those in the US) the highway police is made up almost entirely of BMW's, mercedes' and volvo's. Then there are the high speed interceptor cars which are almost entirely subaru imprezas and mitsubishi evos. The majority of police cars that i actually see are the volvo, mercedes and bmw estate (wagon) cars. Then there are also the range rovers.
Hey dudes, General Discussion. This is the Dev Screens thread! ... Watch me completely redesign this junk 400 times over the next few months. (imported from here)
(imported from here) Shit shovels, get your shit shovels - - - Updated - - - What have those delinquents done to you?
Nothing Special here. (I know a lot of people will LAUGH REALLY HARD to me) Just learning some modelling and maybe interested to put in into game.
Everybody has to start somewhere. Just by making it to that point you have already done better than the likely very high percentage of people who try blender and give up almost immediately. Some small things i wish i knew more about when i first started: Smooth shading: Other peoples models always looked way smoother than mine and i could never figure out why, there is a feature under the shading panel on the left that allows you to make areas of your model look smooth. You can also select sides and mark them as sharp manually so you can have both curved surfaces and sharp edges where you want them. Also there is something called an edge split modifier, you can find it under the modifiers button (wrench in the properties browser) this will automatically make corners with large angles sharp and corners with lower angles smooth, this is really useful. Take your shape, highlight it all ("a" on keyboard) click on smooth shading as shown in image, go to modifiers and select edge split. Then you will get the result on the right. You can see the results on a more detailed model above. Loop Cut and Slide : This allows is probably best described in images but it allows you to split everything in half around your model. You can access it in edit mode as shown in this image. It is useful for doing certain things like adding more detail into your cars upper section. For example: This model was created using the starting box, highlighting the top and extruding it ("e") and doing the same for the front and back. Then using Loop Cut and Slide on each one of them to give me more points to adjust. Usually i would suggest using the mirror tool (which is under the add modifier dialog just like edge split). But you can select both bits you want to modify on either side of the model and then press "s" on your keyboard to scale and then use the "x","y" and "z" keys to select what axis you want to scale in, that way you ensure it remains symmetric. Using just those things mentioned above you can get your model to this point: Hope that some of this is useful to you #megapost
Le methlab... It still looks odd for some reason. Something is off, I'll try and figure out what it is asap. Seems like the angle on the windscreen is too steep compared to the rest of the front end or something. Pretty hard to make something when the only side-on and front-on pictures have loads of perspective and are low resolution...
The middle of the window etc. has to be much more flat, thats why it looks so odd. And there is way to much space under and above the bumper (compare the pictures and youll see what i mean) And also maybe it looks so odd because it needs all the left components like wipers etc.
I expect that's not it... I know it looks far too pointy, but the flat shading and the sharp edge in the center is the main cause of that. I've got a shot from above taken from the one in the series, and it matches up perfectly :/ I'll still have a look at it though. I have a feeling the overall width of the vehicle is wrong, it seems to be too narrow, but it's really hard to judge, and at the moment it does match the dimensions I found online, which I don't know if they're accurate.
Once the windshield gasket is modelled it will probably look proportional. The front end of the Breaking Bad version is a bit beat up and irregular which takes away some of the look of flatness. In reality RVs are not very well put together, long flat panels tend to get warpy, things rarely line up perfect. I think replicating that would do a lot. Perhaps by working on the mesh a little well as maybe with normal mapping to give some wobble. Ah, looking at the pics again, that sharp seam in the middle doesnt really continue below the "hood". It straightens out under the hood, with the bumper not having any crease at all.
