Yes, something about your obj from maya seems to go wrong with 3dsmax. I'm not using all the parts anyway, so I'll fix only the ones that will stay on the model.
The .dae didn't work either? Hmm...anyways you know what you are doing The manifold and exhaust look badass btw!
Even when little and not important details could be made that engine fits prefectly, not just by the look, also giving a great performance improvements that anyone would love to have! keep it up man!
This is it guys, engine bay for the B18C is now done. Engine and it's texture are made by SoHigh00, I've added the exhaust and intake parts. Now polishing some final details but release should be within the first half of April.
I think I might make an AWD/RWD mod for this....Just for fun. Or a riced out mod, or a racer mod...Or something!
A turbo version with 300hp and RWD would make an interesting drifting machine for sure! I might add that as an option in future updates. Of course, any mods will be allowed with this car, or usage of parts for other projects. As long as I get proper credit for my work that is. Right now if I have to make a brief checklist of what needs to be done, is this: - Steel wheels option from factory - Try to fix front suspension (has same bugs as the sunburst) - Adjust rear window / pillars shape, is a bit off right now - Add dashboard lights / make them work - Light brown interior textures as an option - Finish some texture details (fine tune some spec and normal maps too) And I might be missing something else but those are the most important points to work on right now.
Just curious; Did you use the sunburst Jbeam as a base? or did you use the Covet Jbeam as a base. Just asking because you said it has the same bugs as the sunburst. Don't care if it runs on my system or not, it is a great looking mod. Wish I knew a path to practice modeling... Im not interested in paying 4k for 3ds MAX,(Or downloading a torrent either,) and Blender is so full of bugs I don't even know how to begin using it. And Google sketchup isn't good enough for BeamNG, because its Google, and its free. If you have any advice cb, I would apreciate if you shared some with me. Coming from ROBLOX where you use pre-determined shapes to model is alot different than making shapes yourself. I was going to convert my ROBLOX models to beamNG but then I found out they are to low poly.
It's entirely based on the covet, but I've used the slidenodes setup from the sunburst both front and rear. I've fixed the rear suspension problem that the sunburst has, but still couldn't figure out the front "vibration" of the wheels. As for my advice, I've started using CarEd to make Carmageddon 2 wich is a java-based 3D modeling program, with VERY basic functions and only good for that game alone. From that after a couple of years I've went to 3dsmax 4 (or 5, don't remember exactly) and never went back. Used Maya for some time but never got used to it. 3dsmax has it's own share of bugs too, but you get used to it. Don't know about Blender but it seems like a good alternative to me.
Ah, ok. A; So are the slide nodes what make the sunburst more CPU intensive than the covet? Or is it something else. B; Since I have not played any of the games in the Carmageddon series(Although I have read about the games, and at one point in time there was an app store release of one of the carmageddon games,) I may just have to practice with alternatives. I could use blender if I could just figure out how to make polygons... I managed to get a blueprint of an old chevy into Blender, but I couldnt trace it accurately. I may start with static objects.... I have a whole arsenal of buildings I made while I built things on ROBLOX, and since there is an option to export as .OBJ, I can convert with blender and set them up as static objects. Great car, Cant wait for a release... And can someone explain to me why I get an FPS increase on an Intel based laptop when I reduce the window size, and when i do the same thing on my desktop, I get no FPS increase? And is there any way to get certain cars to run at a stable frame rate on my PC? I have an AMD a8 APU(I use an MSI r9 270x 4GB OC edition GAMING instead of onboard graphics,) and the benchmark scores of my processor are somewhat better than my intel processor in my cheap laptop, yet on my laptop I can pull a steady FPS on cars like the T75 and the moonhawk. My AMD a8 5500 has the better benchmarks over it. Intel rigs; Shrink the screen size and I get a huge FPS increase AMD rigs; Shrink the screen size and I get no FPS increase. Of course I come close already to maxing out my FPS on such a low end processor as in my desktop, but I can not keep a stable FPS with vehicles like the Sunburst or the moonhawk. No Im not talking about FPS(I pull 20-30 FPS with the sunburst and moonhawk, single digits on the T75.) Im taking about stability, like frame rate spikes. Happens with default cars more, happens less with mod cars, but still there.
From what i can gather, on you intel rig, your gpu is bottle necking, on your amd rig, your cpu is bottle necking, also, please don't derail threads, there are sections of the forms for this, this is not one of them
I'm pretty sure he said early April, so a few weeks. This and SoHigh's Del Sol have been the only really good looking cars on the forums lately. Since you guys kinda collaborated and shared some models and knowledge between eachother, it makes them look that much better!
Hopefully early April, yeah. Right now it's being beta tested with some community members and we're sorting out a couple of technical issues. The car is completely playable at this state, so it shouldn't take too long to make those final adjustements.
It's been a while without updates but we've been working on the beta testing group to fix a lot of stuff and get it ready for it's release. Should be out soon, keep an eye open
