    Hi there!

I was thinking of buying the game, but first i want to know what 3d programs you guys use to export 3d models/cars to the game? :)

EDIT: Sorry for posting in the wrong section by the way. I noticed that now.

I haven't made anything yet, but normally I'm using 3ds Max.

Torque3D uses Collada, so in theory we should be compatible with anything that can export it.

I know 3ds Max can export to Collada, so try that out.

Yes, but the meshes on drive are .jbeam files, right?

And collada exported meshes are .DAE so.. what do i do then? Got any ideas?

The .DAE files define what the car looks like, .jbeam files are scripts that define how the car works and deforms.

For modeling I recommend you try Blender instead of 3dsMax since it is free and much simpler.

Oh, okey, thank you. Well, i have worked with 3dsmax now for 4 - 5 years, modding games etc, so i know how to use it. Thats why i wanted to use it. :) So that is no problem.

I see, no sense switching then.

Regardless, for any aspiring modelers watching this, Blender is the way to go. ;)

You're probably right about Blender being easier to use, and it's free.
I have only tried Blender a couple of times, and I learned 3ds Max faster, but I'm also kind of weird.. But hey, you can get 3ds Max Student version for free at there website :)

A warning about .DAE/COLLADA: The default built-in 3ds Max COLLADA exporter doesn't seem to play well with BeamNG/Torque3D. Make sure you use OpenCOLLADA.
