Im aware of this. I only got it to hit once. V4 will have it fixed, V3 was pretty rushed, so V4 will have this fixed. For now, just lower the bridge some in the world editor. And to hit it in V3 you have to be going fast enough to bounce the truck up some. But otherwise, does the map load correctly for you?
ok. I am working on an update for Foothill Mines, And I tested the semi boxtruck, and the bridge peels it, not perfectly, but its damage that wont be pretty. Im adding another trail to drive too, so there will be new content in V4. People are complaining about the building placement in the map, is this an issue for you?
OK. That's great! V4 will have a new trail, and that bridge will be fixed so it will can open box trucks. I wont be able to take advantage of it as for the trucks don't run at decent frames on my low end machine, but I am able to test the bridge with them. And I do have a pic from the V3 release showing that the bridge peeled the top of my truck off, but I have not had time to upload it. And I'm not surprised that you had issues with the bridge, because when I took that bridge pic, I had already uploaded the map, and the messed up bridge... So I was like, "Eh, No, Not doing this again tonight." Well, V4 should have the bridge lowered enough to peel the trucks. Its not perfect, but it will significantly damage trucks that drive into it. Also, any suggestions for added content? I only have access to the standard BeamNG static objects, so anything I add needs to be from those. And I hope people like the short V3 preview I made. Its kinda messed up due to Windows Movie Maker being the tool used to add the effects and my audio, but that's to be expected when using free programs.
Can't say enough about how trees can make or break a map. Your vid shows how trees/vegetation make a map jump. As for the building placement that has never been a gripe with me. Every terrain needs to be unique yet authentic, just as in real life. Your building placement could be a reality anywhere in the world. Towns are built and morph as time goes by and create a unique identity all their own. Tweak your layout as you wish but don't kill it's uniqueness. If need be add a few quirky roads that defy the grid logic and break up the structure clusters a bit. My tendency with maps was to start straying from my original idea and ending up with something light years from the original concept. Probably a contributing factor to why I always lose my work.
Im adding 2 final roads, one is a trail system and the other is a back road. I hope this doesnt kill the map's abandoned feeling. Im still trying to thin out vegetation a bit because its starting to lag my system and I am still drafting an upgrade. Aboroath; AMD FX 8320 @3.5GHz, with extreme overclocking capabilities and 8 cores? or the Intel i5 4690k, with 4 cores no hyperthreading, lower wattage, and possibly no need to do extreme Overclocking to run beamNG. This could be the matter of saving a few hundred $ on a rig to do the same thing.
Im working on an update with a new road and a new path. I am also thinking of adding one more 'village', although I dont know for sure if I will add it or not.
Expect V4 by Friday guys. New roads and a new mining site. Just finishing up the textures and road smoothing.
Wow great map this is quite big and fun to play with. The can opening bridge by the way I think is quite cool that was a great idea and it is entertaining to see cars get ripped apart so yeah.
I am working on releasing V4 of the terrain. Sorry for inactivity, I am busy with reality and my ROBLOX projects(BrightAndCreative is the username I go by there, feel free to look me up and look into my work some.) Dont worry, I have not abandoned this yet.
When I made this map I was not concerned about file size sadly I lost all my map files when I tried to get my copy of beamNG.drive to work, but I will hopefully be able to revive this map someday. Can someone give me a status on this map as to is it working in the newest release or not?
I am back to BeamNG for a bit... Mods, please dont kill me for bumping my own thread here. I am working on a new V4 for this map, and it will be the last version of this map I will be making due to issues with updates from BeamNG in the past. PLEASE, If anyone has suggestions for this at this point, I will be interested in adding a few of them IF POSSIBLE. Right now I am adding in a few roads and adjusting the 'Can Opener Bridge'. Anything else you would like to see? If you have the map and could show me a visual in the editor, that would be awesome. But if you dont have the map, And are going off of my videos, Describe to me what you would want to see added. Im open to suggestions!
