Why did you remove "Replace current vehicle"? These are not UI improvements, these are UI changes. Nobody's user experience is improved by the removal of features. Nobody's user experience is improved by being forced to relearn how to interact with every single menu in the game. No other game completely redesigns the UI from the ground up every few months, doing this just wastes dev time and aggravates players. You had a working UI, and threw it away for nothing - just like the last time you made a new UI. I don't know who these UI changes are intended to please, but clearly it isn't your playerbase. At least involve the community if you insist that the game MUST have a brand new interface every 4 updates. Show us two different versions, and let us vote on which one we like more. Give us a form to fill out where we can request additional features, layout changes, etc. User feedback is what builds early access games - making random changes and then ignoring all the complaints you receive about them gets you nowhere.
im... pretty sure the replace current vehicle button disappearing is unintended behaviour, since its there for me, but did disappear a few times. i guess just wait for a hotfix?
I found my old dynamic reflections settings before updating: "dynamicReflection": { "textureSize": 128, "detail": 0.400000006, "enabled": true, "facesPerUpdate": 1, "distance": 500, "debugEnabled": false Since those options have unfortunately been simplified, what would the closest preset be to that and what would be different about it versus that?
Yes! The new update looks great and performance is very smooth, too. EDIT - I also just noticed a small tuning error. On both the city bus (which has a nice bouncy suspension seat now) and the school bus, exiting the driver's seat places the player outside of the left side of the bus, instead of the right side next to the doors. I also noticed that the look behind command now looks over the left shoulder out the car window rather than over the right shoulder into the interior; not a good or bad thing, but an interesting change.
Devs like none others. Seriously, who checks if mods they are not even responsible for function with the latest game update? I challenge anyone to find developers who are actually this active and caring for their community more than Beam.
@AgentMooshroom5 @Agent_Y do you know if it's on the team's radar to restore the "Version 0.39 highlights", "Version 0.38 highlights" menu options to Quick-Start Experiences? These were very helpful for returning players to try out scenarios from past updates, and I can attest that it was easy to launch them with a controller. The 0.40 menu looks like a step back, since its simple scrolling list with (seemingly) random missions looks less thought-out and is less organized: If the highlights are re-introduced to the Quick-start Experiences menu, then the new menu overhaul will be a big improvement overall. It will also help maintain player numbers when new updates come out in the future. Putting these update scenario categories under "View all" or "Gameplay Selector" doesn't have the same level as polish as the pre-0.40 approach.
Only hotfix that would make me return is a revert to .38's UI. The missing features might be unintended, but the decimation of the ease of use of the menus was deliberate. They didn't make these layout changes accidentally. The point stands that a working UI was replaced with a UI that doesn't work, just like the last time they completely remade the UI from the ground up for no reason at all.
Can this not be a thing/toggable? Because I was able to go up to 5, if not more with this in Photo Mode on 0.39, yet the game thinks that I'm running out of VRAM, when I'm not..
it works fine in my game lol --- Post updated --- Through testing I have found that dually axel tires on the T series specifically show a standard tire mark instead of the dually tire mark like the new truck and the H series. furthermore, on the new truck, the rear inter axel driveshaft and Leafspring chassis mounts for the tandem axel are far more fragile than those on the T serie, but using the nodegrabber they take nearly the same amount of force to break manually. i found thgis out while testing the 8x8 offroading capabilities that going over any bump might randomly break this driveshaft. althouygh i used nodegrabber to break the leafspring chassis mount. you can see in the video aswell that the wheels graph does not show up as dually wheels and instead as standard wheels
It's a new vehicle configuration option, Simplified or Standard duallys, next to license plate design, simplified simulates both tires as one tire

Wait, so all vehicles that have dually wheels have that? So we have to manually remove that option every time we spawn one? EDIT Nvm, at least for me, it comes standard without the simplified simulation
World Editor fails to open (display a lua error about the tech license after pressing F11) Any map, any vehicles, in safe mode from the current Humble Bundle build (0.40.0) The safe mode of the world editor do work (Ctrl + F11) Edit: fixed by uninstalling the game and reinstalling. Maybe this is related to this change: I updated from 0.39.4 to 0.40.0, maybe something wasn't cleared by the new installer
Has anyone noticed a change in the WL-40 steering after the 0.40 update? It feels extremely slower at low RPM, and the difference in steering speed between low and high RPM seems much more noticeable than before. Is it just me? My guess is its the hydrolics that have been changed. Also it is much louder than before, I'm not sure if this was intended.
Oh, for some reason, when I tried it with taller vehicles, the lights appear on top. Smaller vehicles work, but the current issue is that I can't hide the margins anymore, there used to be a separate window for Showroom V2 settings, now after the hotfix, it's gone.
With the Hotfix is DLSS on some GPU’s on and the user isn’t able to turn it off, right? Because on my PC (RTX 3050 or 3060 or sth) is DLSS ruined (but also from 3rd party). I haven’t tested it yet, but otherwise u have to make it so the user can turn it off. I’m really sorry if you can turn it off and it’s just on by default!
I was also confused by: But I just tried the update 0.40.2 and the game runs with no issues on my GTX 1070 which does not support any kind of DLSS.
This changelog line means that an internal setting inside DLSS (not public facing) is used when DLSS is chosen by the user, not that the DLSS AA mode is forced on older GPUs. You're still free to pick whatever you want and this is only relevant for people actively choosing to use DLSS and also care about the internal details of how it's being used
Hello guys, I don't know if anyone is experiencing the same issue, but I have exactly zero input on some cars. The "funny" thing is that vanilla cars are the main problem. The ETK 800 Series is undrivable for me. I can't steer, shift gears and so on. Mods work tho...
