WRC Vivace 1.039 has a compatibility issue with BeamNG 0.40: the car spawns, but steering and throttle do not respond. The custom bodies define the front-left seat without the $isDriver variable required by the current occupant system. The affected files are: vehicles/vivace/hyundai23/vivace_body_pants_0.39_port.jbeam vehicles/vivace/hyundai23/vivace_body_wrc_0.39_port.jbeam In both files, the vivace_seat_FL slot is labelled “Driver Seat”, but its slot options are missing {"variables":{"$isDriver":"LHD"}}. The vanilla 0.40 Vivace interior passes this variable to its driver seat. In vehicles/common/passengers/occupant_generic.jbeam, $isDriver determines the occupant slot’s defaultPermissionMode: "LHD" or "RHD" gives "driver" permissions; otherwise it becomes "passenger". Because the mod’s seat slot does not pass that variable, the driver seat receives passenger permissions. The occupant system then blocks driving inputs, which explains why the vehicle loads without allowing steering or throttle. The proposed fix is to add {"variables":{"$isDriver":"LHD"}} as the options object on the vivace_seat_FL slot row in both custom body files. This change has been applied locally and verified to affect only those two slot definitions. An in-game retest is still pending, so runtime success is not yet confirmed.
0.40 came out yesterday, calm down. Also, idk if anyone would just blindly put code seemingly generated from Claude.
