hello, im working on a level. i used the default template in the auxiliary level selector. problem is, there are floating trees, bushes, whatever. i tried deleting them using the forest editor itself, i tried deleting the whole theForest object and creating it again (both with the prompt and manually using create object), deleting everything in the forest folder. no matter what i do, the trees reappear in the sky every time i reload the level. i can place my own meshes with the brush and it saves normally. i can also delete them normally, its just that i cant get rid of the other, non hand placed trees.

When removing every instance of a forest item type and then save it, them they are just removed entirely from the files in your local userfolder levels folder where your modified files go to. This means that if you still have the original map files in the unpacked mods folder etc, the removed files are still there and get loaded from there. To make sure you keep your deletion remove the "forest" folder from your original map files and replace it with the saved files, as simply merging the resaved files to the mod files will have nothing to overwrite the now deleted files with (so they are kept)

i was working on my level located in "AppData\Local\BeamNG\BeamNG.drive\current\levels\mylevel\..." (which was unpacked here), there was not even an unpacked folder in "AppData\Local\BeamNG\BeamNG.drive\current\mods". i thought i might as well delete the whole BeamNG from AppData so i did it, i copied my level only and pasted it where it was before. so the whole userfolder was clean with just the level inside it and still the same thing happened. maybe i misunderstood what you meant, but doesnt that mean that theres something inside the level itself causing it?

The file in unpacked is where the mod files are located, but when you save the level in the world editor it will instead send the modified files to "BeamNG.drive\current\levels\mylevel" instead. To solve your original issue you should delete the "forest" folder from the unpacked folder version of the mod, as then the game will only use the forest folder from the saved levels folder instead (which will not include any forest items that were deleted)
