Many roads will be added and overhauled. "they (traffic) can go up to 140 km/h on the highway" that is intentional --- Post updated --- "it could become one of the best map mods in BeamNG.drive" Thank you . I'm not running for superlatives, though! Except maybe the waiting time lol, I'm sorry about that.
You're right ! They're old bullsh**... I took them just out of laziness (or rather, work overload), not at all to support AI. I'm sorry for that . Of course they will be replaced for the next update. If you don't like them, you can use the white anti AI spawnpoint picture pack. or maybe create some own pictures. I don't have a better solution for you at the moment.
Some more WIP impressions Sure, there are some 8k maps with lots of rocks or forest. But I try to make the ~70km² of Homerange beautiful everywhere and include many dreamlike scenes, where the main focus is, of course, on driving: I'm gradually working through the most important tasks. But it'll take some time. I think at some point I'll have to set myself a deadline and finally get the update ready. So, please bear with me a little longer. Last picture: Of course, work is also done at night.
Take your time, my friend...Rome wasn't built in a day'...The skybox screenshot looking great, outstanding work as always.
Well, it's not really a Skybox, but rather something like a Skyring which I built for Homerange combined with the vanilla cloud layers. The image above (pic #6) was taken in the evening, in relatively bad weather. I think I can integrate the upcoming volumetric clouds from BeamNG into my weather quite well. But the new lighting calculations will probably require some adjustments on my end. I'm really looking forward to the upcoming BeamNG update. Here you can see progressing daytime and worsening weather at midday as a meteorological example:
love what I see! I hope the map will not lose its last century feel through all the updates! i'm genuinely more hyped for this mod than for the update
Realy impressive, keep on doing the good work. (I am now a bit slow down with gaming, it is to hot on my gaming spot)
Sorry for my in-correct terminology, as what you are creating on your Homerange map is way above my pay-grade Really loving the night scene, especially the beautiful contrast between the light and dark cloud formations. The varying cloud densities, combined with the clear, lighter patch of sky above, create a stunning atmosphere...looks very realistic, top marks my friend.
not sure if someone already mentioned it but Update 0.39 seemed to have messed with the time setting on the map. I cant change the time of the day anymore, it is always fixed in one position no matter what time I set it at. Would be nice to hear if this problem occurs to others or if there are mods corrupting it.
The current (repo) version of Homerange does not touch the time settings and gametime at all. There is a start daytime defined by the SunSky object like all maps do, that's all. I have absolutely no clue why the time is frozen on your side. On the other hand the map seems do have not texture problems, is that right? I just have to wait a bit till Humble has the DRM-free version ready for download. So at the moment I cannot test the map on 0.39 right now.
Not seen any texture problems at the moment but didn't go in depth yet. But I turned off all the mods to see if the problem is still there and it is, idk maybe it's someting more custom maps are experiencing since the update did change quite a lot. Also for me it seens like this update did corrupt a lot of mods as I have to figure out which one is causing the game to not spawn any vehicle. Maybe the devs already know this and are planning a Hotfix but we'll have to wait and see.
0.39 - Boooom! The new BeamNG update is simply fantastic and extremely exciting! Unfortunately, it also brings a ton of additional tasks. Regarding the upcoming Homerange release: The textures are fine. I can just put my weather system into standby mode for now. The additional cloudscape can stay and blends in nicely with the new BeamNG clouds (cause it's no skybox). However, there are a lot of technical details that have changed, including their way they have to be used, and that simply requires patience and time. Sometimes to find new workarounds or something. Again. And quite honestly: I'll continue working undisturbed with version 0.38 for now and not get distracted from the main task of finishing the content for Homerange to the point I planned. I'm just waiting for the next (few) 0.39 hotfix updates. I'll also need a new graphics card so that not only can DX12 run, but also so that there are enough FPS in the world editor to work smoothly. It is what it is: A possible release date for the new version of Homerange is unfortunately pushed further into the future. Nevertheless, I'd like to show you some new pictures of an interesting scene, and I'm actually glad it's underwater. The above-water part of Homerange and BeamNG version 0.39 will need to getting to know each other better. Then, I hope, a close friendship can develop. PS: I love the water physics
So very happy that the 0.39 update has not dampened your spirits, my friend...those under water screenshots look interesting....maybe some underwater crafts my evolve at some stage, keep up the great work
Glad to here that the textures are not affected the map, keep doing the good work, we are waiting patiently
Thanks a lot for the information! I'm still not sure what the cause might be. Most likely it's related to the timed street lighting controls, as I know something has changed there. However, I'm glad the version is otherwise running well. When I'm working with version 0.39 of the game (I'm still working with 0.38 cause of new hardware demands), I'll take a closer look at it; perhaps I can then create a quick hotfix especially for the locked daytime. Of course, all the new game features will then be incorporated into the new version of Homerange.
Wonderful work, my friend! I certainly don’t envy you or the other modders when it comes to the dedication required to keep your passion alive, especially when updates come around that create even more work for fixing and updating your mods.
Great map, amazing exploration, a few small bugs to iro out, but still very playable on .39, one thing missing would be night/day cycle , i cant change the time on the map
