Yes that and Hermann. Just not sure if I would be able to use that name especially since i’m new to the modding community. In the future though the brand could always be switched to either of those, if i’m granted permission. For now though it is Vogler

FERDINAND AND THE NORDLAUF 902
Thanks to @SupraTech for the rights to use his brand!

Ferdinand is a small manufacturer from Falkenau, in the German Harz foothills. The town's medieval charter granted it fowling rights over the surrounding forest, and the Ferdinand guild worked there for four centuries before the name ended up on a car. The crest carries the town arms, a falcon, three finches, and a fowler's net. The car was shown as the 901. The 901 prototype was entered in the Nordlauf as a shakedown and won outright. The name went on the boot lid before the car reached production, and it has stayed there. After the race however, the losing Cherrier objected the new car as they had all 3 digit numbers ending in 1 registered, so it became the 902.

The 902.1 covers 1999–2003. Rear engine flat-six mounted behind the axle, around 1320 kg with a 39/61 rear weight bias. Coupe, retractable rear spoiler. The quintessential rear engine german sports car.

It's heavily inspired by the water-cooled 911, but it isn't a copy of any single one. The front takes after the early water-cooled cars (Fried egg lights, etc). The rear borrows from the last of the air-cooled generation, including the full-width reflector band between the tail lights. All geometry is original and modelled from scratch.

There's a facelift planned down the line aswell the 902.2 which moves to round headlights and a revised front end, following roughly where the real cars went next.

The planned trims are:

902 Nordlauf (manual)

902 Nordlauf (automatic)

902 Nordlauf Allrad

902 Nordlauf V

902 Turbo

902 Turbo V

902 Gruppe 3

902 Gruppe 3 KS

902 Gruppe 2

902 Cup

902 Safari

902 Targa

Base Nordlauf coupe will be free on the repository. The other variants will likely be paid, since I'm funding the work myself.

I have no modeling skills, so the modeling of the 902 is being outsourced and paid for by me out of pocket, which also ensures this won't just end up a cancelled thread . I'll keep updating this thread with new images and whatever updates come with it. Please if you have any suggestions about proportions or design elements I'd love to hear them as its still very early in the modelling process. Thank you everybody!

I'd be careful using the Ferdinand name as it is actually a part of the registered name for Porsche. The full name of the company is Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG with The (F.) being for Ferdinand. This full name has been put onto the cars through the chassis ID/Vin Plates since the first 356 was built. Only difference was that AG replaced KG in 1973.
