Razka's Advanced Tyre Simulation started from Luuk's tyre thermals and wear mod but it honestly became way bigger than I ever planned, one of the biggest reasons I started changing it was the wear rate because in the old system a normal road tyre could be basically finished after around 68 km, ours is built around an actual standard road tyre life of about 50,000 km with a normal range of roughly 38,000 to 65,000 km depending on conditions, so under normal driving that is around 735 times farther than the old 68 km wear rate, but you can still destroy a tyre quickly with burnouts, drifting, overheating, bad pressure or lockups, the tyre is now split into 9 wear sections instead of 3 wear sections, pressure rises as the tyre heats up, different compounds behave differently, bad pressure can wear the center or shoulders, camber can destroy one side and locking the brakes can create an actual flat spot, the visual side also got completely out of hand because instead of putting the same bald texture over every tyre the actual BeamNG tyre meshes are being rebuilt into different wear states including bald rubber and exposed reinforcement when the tyre is completely destroyed, what was originally meant to be a better wear system somehow turned into a several gigabyte tyre simulation overhaul File size is expected to 2 gigabytes and 9 gigabytes unpacked compared to Luuks Mod as 145 Kilobytes and around 300 kilobytes unpacked. Expect the mod to release a couple days to a week. Do not take the wear preview as exactly how it will look like ingame. Results may differ.
yeah just realized theres so many tyre mods now that im looking at this damn didnt know it this popular the average "tyre sim" is a few megabytes to a hundered kilobytes mine is 2 entire gigabytes comperssed
What did you even put there that needs so much space? Ofc, we know that a bigger mod is better because it is bigger.
having visual tire wear is quite expensive and not mentioning the complex simulation this picture only like 10% of the rest of the folder is this a small part of the mod this single folder takes 6.93 GB because theres visual tyre wear for EVERY tire in the base game yes even dumptrucks
the DOWNLOAD is 18. The game itself is 50. Your mod, which is reportedly 6 to 9gb, is half the size of the game's download on Steam.
Yeah okay. @Kagoni’s mod is barely even 3 mb and it seems like a good mod. Yes, I don’t agree with some of the AI things he used, but keep in mind, he also changed the thumbnail of his mod on the repo from an AI to a real thumbnail since I didn’t agree with his AI thumbnail, which just proves that this guy listens to some advice. Your mod, on the other hand, is just over 6 GIGS OF FILES. There is no tyre mod that requires 6 gigs of files, which makes me assume that this mod is also prob vibecoded. And your excuse is that your mod is “better” than Kagoni’s. And to be brutally honest, it seems that it really isn’t…
it my mod isnt 6gb its around 2gb compressed, most of the size is from the actual 3d visual wear system for hundreds of vanilla tyres with loads of wear states, kagoni's mod is way smaller because its doing things differently, thats literally it, file size doesnt prove something is vibecoded and it doesnt prove something is better either, compare how the physics and visual wear actually work ingame
That's the problem. You created a copy of literally EVERY tire in game, when you could just Change the texture/material dynamically. THere's a Tire mod in the Repo ("More Vanilla Tires (Modular and stretched tires)") that allows you to have any tire skin, with multiple sizes without literally having a duplicate of every tire. Probably you don't even know Beam allows you that and made it the hardest way possible, instead of looking at the wiki and asking for help. https://www.beamng.com/resources/more-vanilla-tires-modular-and-stretched-tires.36941/
