Hello, So I've tried digging more into the LUA side of modding recently and found some pretty useful methods for manipulating the vehicle. This allowed me to completely change how this mod works under the hood, which in turn unlocked lots of new possible functionalities (see the update changelog). The most important change I made is that now the original non-moving wiper flexbodies are made fully transparent (effectively removing them without changing the original jbeam), and all moving wiper props are moved into a single part inside "Additional modification" slot. This means that no original jbeam is overwritten, so there should be much less issues when BeamNG updates. I discovered that it's possible to change a vehicle's config and reload it automatically, so now you won't have to open the Vehicle Config menu to add animated wipers every time. Props (like wiper stalks) can also be modified without reloading the car or changing jbeam, which allowed making wiper stalks work correctly on all cars. Last change I did was adding support for all remaining vanilla vehicles - Ardente, HT55, WL40 and MD-series bus. If you need the "Additional modification" slot for other mods, don't worry, the "Animated wipers" part in vehicle config menu provides a second slot for any other mods that require it. One minor bug is the "Animated wipers" part shows up in that slot too, but you can ignore it. Keep in mind that this update is still experimental and might cause some issues. I recommend disabling and re-enabling the mod, and clearing cache if you find any problems. Miata lover updated Animated Wipers with a new update entry: 3.0 Read the rest of this update entry...
the ardentes wiper stalks move but there aren't any wipers on the windshield.. anyone else having the same issue?
Hey after this new update, this mod breaks all the vanilla and non vanilla cop cars since beamng does not like editing cop cars on the go. Since this mod adds animated wipers to every car supported by it, it breaks the config type=police in the .json file and thus traffic ai no longer recognizes your cop car as police. This is more of a beamng problem, but since the devs have never done anything about it to fix it, it breaks your mod as well, sort of like a domino effect
beautiful, but i kindly ask for a bug fix because when i use it it bugs the sunburst and makes half the mirrors disappear and yes i tried clearing the cache but anyways thanks again for the mod bro

Hello First things first, amazing mod for immersion. Still, after the major update you did, completely changing the way the wipers works, it seems to cause issues in BeamMP Idk if you care about MP or not but I guess i'll still report it since it is really gamebreaking The issue encountered is that it forces players to load others players setup when they just popped. It happens like that: I pop on the server by myself, then my buddy pop, and when he spawn his car, when i do the event to load it as usual, it load it and also overwrite my own car with the config my buddy just spawned, like it loads his car for him and over mine And obv if i try to respawn my own car, then it's my buddy that get his own car overwritten when he reload mine. And it's an infinite loop. As soon as i deleted the last update of your mod on the server, everything was back to normal. I guess it's linked to the new way you make wipers pop automatically on spawning cars. If you'd investigate the issue it would be amazing, since with this + Rain FX mod (and hopefully dynamic weather compatibility for this last one) touge battles are going to be more than interesting Anyways, thanks for time and dedication to do some amazing things like this
Thank you I really wish to fix all the issues caused by my mod, but beamMP is really complicated and I'm not sure if I'd be able to do that, especially since it'd require learning how beamMP works under the hood, which I don't have much time for currently. I definitely won't be able to fix it in the nearest future, but maybe one day it will happen. No promises though. For now you can use pre-3.0 versions on your MP server, you can find them in the "Version History" tab at the top (btw, I had a look at the RainFX mod and have to say that I unfortunately don't see it being actually usable anytime soon. Don't get me wrong, the general idea is good, but seeing that its author is new on the forums - and probably new to modding - and how much they used AI in making that mod, it will definitely take some time until it works at all, even if just partially. So don't get your hopes up too fast)
Yeah i guessed it was never really intended for MP, and the pre 3.0 version was actually working just fine in MP. Amazing work still, the only missing link now is the rain actually interacting with the windshield (and wipers?) And yeah i've seen your review of the RainFX mod. I have to say i was hyped when i saw it, since in AC it was a big visual upgrade at the time. Still i know Beam doesn't work at all the same and from what i've learned here and there rain droplets almost have been said to be impossible or close to it. I've learnt to keep my hopes low with new modded functionnalities in beam, but still, would be amazing (really wondering about the performance hit tho, since it AC it wasn't free to say the least) We'll see with 1.2 and after i guess.
You can make it sync in BeamMP by using electrics to control the animation. BeamMP automatically syncs electrics values.
I'm already using electrics for the wipers, the problem is caused by the vehicle auto-respawning to add the wipers, which breaks BeamMP.
Since the thread is active again, I do come with a bug report. After you turn off an auto cycle on the wipers, the wipe once function does not fire until the 2nd trigger. First trigger does nothing.
I took a quick look at your code, and respawning the vehicle shouldn't cause any issues. BeamMP will send the changes as an edit to the other clients. I did however see that the electrics values were overwritten based on a local vehicle variable every frame, which will desync it because those locals aren't synced. You can fix this by checking if Code: v.mpVehicleType == "R" is true before applying the electrics. v is a vehicle engine global and BeamMP sets mpVehicleType to R for Remote vehicles. With that check you can also prevent people from triggering the wipers on other people's cars (though this is only a local effect) This will also probably cause choppy animations if the electrics wiper value isn't smoothed on remote vehicles.
Hi! I’m the developer of RainFX. I’ve taken it down because I’m going to rework it. I’m not sure why it isn’t working for many people—I tested it, and it works fine. Anyway, stay tuned for the mod under a new name. (The mod doesn’t hit your FPS hard; there might be a slight stutter when the weather changes, at most.) I’ll be rebuilding it from scratch.

I've run into a bit of an issue in career mode When I updated to the new version, I tried to add the wipers back to my vehicle via "Additional Modification" but the subitems weren't installed and they don't have any options (screenshots attached) As a quick fix I created a new profile with the same car and copied all the "_AW" text in the cars JSON file and placed it in the same locations on my save which works. Might be wrong but I think the Jbeam files are all missing a comma for the Additional Modification section.
