Knockhill Circuit 2017 Just to note this is a port of an assetto corsa track, but i've done my best to make it as good as i can in BeamNG. As much as i wish i could find a more recent version of the track this was the newest i could get my hands on. Posting here on the fourms as AC Ports are not allowed on the Repository nor can i seem to find the original creator of this map (i believe it may be Rob Milliken on Simracingonline fourms?). Anyways i hope you enjoy the map! INCLUDES: Knockhill Circuit: PBR Materials and Night Lighting: AI Support: 1 AI Race & 3 Time Trials: If you have any issues with the mod itself please comment below and let me know.
Few people have before but nobody ever uploaded them or finished them, wanted to do this as its my local track and wanted to play it in beamng
looove this track, very edge of the seat driving it, only downside is the sticky tyre barriers, not like the lakeside map when you kinda soft crash into them and bounce out even at speed. . . only thing the ruins the emersion for me but otherwise awesome track
From what I understand (from gleaming through a server I'm in), the barriers have to be thicker in order for them not to grab cars. Likely a collision mesh (even external) that's about 2-4cm thick should do?
i'll be 1000% honest and say i don't know how to create collision meshes but i can maybe try learn it at some point cause this is something annoying me too
the signage on the tyre walls stop the car without grab, i'm not at all sure how making maps and such works but similar workings?
beamng's map editor is just using the map's model as its collisions, will need to figure out a way to make custom collisions for them
you can do it either in blender or in the world edit using the 'mesh spline' tool (i think thats the name). Probably easier to use the mesh spline tools but depending on the object you are giving collision it might not work as well as a blender made one. --- Post updated --- (id be happy to do it for you if you wanted, it would be good to do yourself though so you know what to do next time)
i'll be super honest, whenever i feel like it. the level editor gives me such a migrane to use with how unstable it can be
