all UIs in the left, too many controls to reach a single setting, car config window is thick as my dictionary, other's are hard to reach. SPENT 5 MINUTES TO FIND A SINGLE SETTING BY USING REDDIT. IN 0.38UI, IT ONLY TOOK 1MINUTES. VERY HARD TO SEE, and also, the EV compensation graphics makes the great nurburging, spa, daytona circut mods look absolutely terrible. It's too bright that I feel that the camera is like looking at the sun. also, I know that this is for the console users in the future, but I hope that there is a setting which makes the ui look like 0.38 the vehicle config now takes 3 clicks to reach instead of a single click of 3.38.
Controls > Menu Navigation (extra) > parts selector.... And bind it to whatever button you want. It literally takes ONE button. I use an Xbox controller and I assign it to the left menu button, the radial menu is on the right button. If I want the whole options menu, I can just back out of the vehicle config, (B button) and it takes me to that menu. The UI is good; it sounds like you haven't figured out how to get it to work for you. It's very customizable.
Mods need to be updated to have proper lighting since the responsible values and math were switched from arbitrary numbers to actual physical units. There will 100% be mismatches in levels and vvehicles. You can also try the setting slider to adjust your target exposure.
I have been playing version 0.39 for two weeks now and wanted to share that I really like the new UI. It is a definite improvement.
Still laggy with like 400+ mods but I’d say in general it is a lot smoother and even has text when it is taking too long to load. I guess muscle memory from the previous versions makes it seem more cumbersome, but I ain’t gonna lie in previous versions the ui has always been a pain. Now at least it is consistently confusing and every play it is becoming more intuitive.
thank you for that --- Post updated --- there may be some different opinions about this, but I respect your idea. --- Post updated --- I use a mouse and a keyboard so there could be some differences
Regardless of the fact I think that is the absolute worst way to play Beam...my point still stands if you follow what I wrote. You can bind vehicle config to one single button. Lots of keys on the keyboard - I'm sure you can find one. I think by default, it's a key combination like cntrl+W or something.
Worst way to play BeamNG if you're actually driving with it. To navigate the UI, much more intuitive to point and click instead of having to use an annoying dpad or analog stick to go up or down one at a time. With this forced console oriented UI, less intuitive than it already was. Shouldn't have to go through multiple menus just to reach the graphic settings or some other settings that only took one or two clicks to get to previously. The console kids can keep this shitty UI, but don't force it on desktop users. Some aspects of it are less laggy than before, others need much more polishing.
