Update 0.39 Broke controller support linux

I'm on a Fedora based linux distro (Nobara) and the latest update 0.39 broke controller support for the game.
I have a Xbox one controller and a 8BitDo Pro 2 controller which can switch between Xbox, PS4 and Switch and can't get either to work. I verified files and reinstalled the game.
The controller is detected and vibrates when i crash, but none of the buttons work.

Not sure if this will fix it for you but adding

SDL_VIDEODRIVER=x11 %command%

to the launch options in steam seemed to fix controller input for me.
