Update Speculation thread

Guys I just ended my shift, what did i miss?

 

Nothing really. 0.39 came out, it’s good, but has bad optimization. So yeah, nothing much…

 

Agree, I'm also going to test my game in a few minutes. I'm really scared though because I have integrated graphics (although 32gb of ram and a ryzen 9)

dunno if it's just me or the windows taskbar takes longer to open when i hit the windows key, ever since i updated to 0.39

 

I’m totally with you there. I love the update, the Ardente is everything I could have wanted, but I’m honestly a bit disappointed with the optimization. It’s not great. I think I could have waited a bit longer for them to iron out the bugs.

I do feel bad now too, because in all seriousness, it’s probably a good bit our fault as a community. We pushed so hard for an update sooner, that I feel like the devs started rushing it towards the end. I hope we didn’t put too much pressure on them.

 

What makes this worse is that BeamNG’s SteamDB review percentage went to 96%, which isn’t really good.

 

Kinda agree, kinda not. On one hand, yeah, community really just pushed the update with brute force. On the other hand - god damn did you see how game looks now? I think it is logical that great graphics always comes at the cost of performance.

 

Yeah. I think we, as a community, need to learn a bit of patience. I mean, the subreddit was going absolutely ballistic for months now.

 

How get Workbench? I also found mentions in these files.

 

Oh, no I totally get that! In no way am I complaining about the quality of the new graphics! I’m stunned and overall impressed by the update in general. I just feel that there are some things, specifically the optimisation, that could have taken a bit longer to perfect. Some things feel a bit rushed. It still runs great on my 2022 pc, I’ve just lost a bit of frames that I had. Nothing overly concerning, just mildly annoying

 

honestly this update made my laptop run the game faster and at higher graphics settings too last update i had steam deck graphics and i set the max to 45 fps now with this update its at normal with dynamic reflections at 45 fps and also last update career mode lagged a bit and now this update it runs perfectly

 

I was right, all stock configs of the ardente use the wide track independent suspension

 

Unfortunately you have to speak for yourself. It was nice to have breathing room between updates for once and I was willing to wait until August, even into September if not later. Just when I was finding good LevelInfo and Sunsky settings with the CK Dynamic Skybox mod, but now that mod got taken down.

 

Phew, BeamBeer wasn't completely wiped out from existence! We can continue drinking and driving.
