you really don't, especially in a map specifically designed for high speed highway driving... but there are hundreds of maps and map mods in the game for a reason
To be quite honest, I did always wonder how much work would it take to fill the points between offramps and PAs with actual streets to make the city feel more open, but I don't doubt it would take a comically huge amount of work.
That but proper resizing for some maps plus lots more addon maps all over the place all connected to the actual entire Metro not just the C1, fixes and optimization, proper colmesh on roads. troubleshooting going well too, it is targeted at higher end pc's for sure, if you want to run it on Ultra with traffic. new version is almost done but the size is insane, optimization i gained a extra 19 fps from last version already in the most heavy spots. most annoying bugs are gone. 99.9% of textures already done, Soon. at the end, it will be its own mode. Daikoku pa speedbumps gone, dude i am having a blast testing this, very addictive, the new,ver 1.0.2 has nothing on the next release. Also, if we are talking about Project J, minus well keep the conversation over at https://www.beamng.com/threads/project-j-how-to-get-to-2-oi-warf-video-clip-added.109592/
Isn't that the beamng port of the assetto corsa map "Nihon Turismo"? https://nihonturismo.github.io/ It looks pretty similar and has the same idea. EDIT: Oh god, it is. That's a shame. I HATED nihon turismo. It is a pretty extensive and technically marvellous map that goes for map variety and content over literally anything. The layout isn't realistic, nor is it fun, and a lot of the points between maps are straight up broken if they dont look like a PS2 game. Basically the map is just finding a ton of maps that take place in japan and make them connect by road and load them into a single map without caring about the overall looks or if the maps are supposed to be where they are.
Yea Project J is not that. also there is plenty of maps out here for you that is not focused on this. The Metro is not for everyone. Further more, i am doing this map for my own personal enjoyment, sharing it with the community is just a nice gesture. Its free, like all mods should be.
If it's not like that then I will try it next time when I get BeamNG and I hope you dont take my distaste towards Nihon turismo as a personal attack towards you modding or sharing. I just like maps that are trying to appeal to reality over gameplay or variety in general, and wondered how hard would it be to simulate street-level details in a map as big as tokyo, even if limited to the highway size.
You know what's crazy? I'm discovering a lot of crazy map mods in Assetto that it's kinda making some here look jealous. Like where the love at, yo?
I have a sneaky feeling you're testing this map out on an internal 0.39 build :D Leak some screenshots, don't let tdev have all the fun
Just wanted to say thank you, always used this mod every reinstall here and there and its a bliss, it has its few quirks and bugs but i love it regardless <3
Hello there, as much as I love this map, it's been giving me problems: after it kept being stuck on the loading screen, i deleted it and reinstalled it, and after that the same thing keeps happening, except now the CK Map Controller won't work and will ask to restart the game. If anyone had any idea how to solve these issues, I would be much obliged.
no shit it doesn't work... the update is 5 hours old, guys, try to get some patience and play on Vanilla maps for a few days
