How would you know if it's not done...? Of course the RR mod was bad but you don't even know if it's done, and this is my hot take, but comments like this are so unreasonable.
No, most people hate it because it's unsafe, it looks like shit, and it's incredibly expensive and impractical. Some people also just don't like EVs. And Elon sucks. That said, I'm excited for this mod, because it means I can crash it into stuff. It also doesn't seem like it's a very difficult vehicle to model, as it's quite geometric.
EV’s do suck. I genuinely remember when everyone used to say “EV’S WILL TAKE OVER THE WORLD!!!” with magazines such as Motor Trend glazing the EV industry and claiming it’s the “future” of cars (I have plenty of Motor Trend issues that have those things lol). But in the end, that never happened. EV’s are instead just getting discontinued left and right because no one wants an EV. Companies who have switched from gasoline to EV’s are ruined too (take a look at Jaguar).
Only America doesn’t like EVs. Problem is no good evs are sold in North America. Honestly theres a lot of good ones, and if they made the vehicles like the GM ev1 I would be happy, because that thing has character.
I think the primary things wrong with EV's is A: They're generally unaffordable for most people. I only ever see EV's in richer cities and neighborhoods. B: They're much heavier than ICE cars due to... y'know, the batteries. C: Anyone who knows anything about cars or is enthusiastic about cars will just buy an ICE car, either new or used. And D: EV's are ironically pretty unreliable and low quality (cough cough Tesla cough cough). I 100% believe we'll find some better alternative in the future, like hydrogen or just pure ethanol (like in Cyberpunk 2077). This is just my opinion. Feel free to disagree. --- Post updated --- The only EV I genuinely like is the Honda E, and that's really only because I find it very cute. Even then, that car is really heavy for it's size (~3,300 pounds minimum, for a car that looks like it should only weigh ~2,500 pounds max). Give me an ICE conversion of that car any day, and I guarantee I'd buy it in a hot minute.
Another victory for the 25-year import law, I suppose. By the time we're able to buy these current European EVs, they will be completely obsolete. I find it amusing that the 25-year import law was created to stop Japanese companies from swarming the US market and give US auto manufacturers time to catch up, but instead the Japanese just created their own factories in the US. It has basically zero use now except for the fact that it means we can't get cool Japanese-market only cars.
I've heard that europeans are buying EVs only because of government giving them perks for owning it, and in my country i see people buying chinese EVs because they're cheap and also it's not an used car

As a European-born being, i honestly never liked EVs, specially with how ugly they are, like take a look at the new Ford "Capri" revival, like that ain't even a Capri, but instead it's a literal Crappy Car, i almost got a heart attack from looking at one of those in my life
imo EVs are fine. Not bad but not as good as ICE cars. Hybrids are the sweet spot. As for the Cybertruck: unpopular opinion: it's not that bad honestly. looks unique and has some unique tech as well
