Hey guys. Recently i started modding and i got my first car in the game. However, in the game, the mirrors appear very weirdly, and the mirror material that is used in the car itself is broken. Any reason on why? (the reflective mirror material is called "mirror", and the mirror material itself (the plastic, or so to say) is the same as the body's)
Check that the mirror material is actually assigned to those faces, to me it looks like it isn't. This is the most likely cause in my opinion. Also ensure the mirrors faces aren't flipped. If the faces are flipped it won't be visible. The textures are due to UV mapping, a very quick and dirty method is just to scale the UV down and fit it into a painted part of the texture. This will not give the best shading but will work. The proper way is to unwrap it properly and align it with the section of texture for the mirror.
they are assigned, and the faces are not flipped please excuse my horrible wording and my rather dumb sounding question but how the fuck am i gonna do UV mapping?? is it in blender itself?
Uv mapping is in blender, when you select faces you'll can change the scene to UV editor. This says where which faces are positioned to the texture. As for the mirror, I can't say TBH without seeing the model, I assume when you select the mirror material it selects those faces? It seems like it's coming back to the body material somehow.
whenever i select those faces that are for the mirror it does return to the mirror material that you can see in the side
