Update Speculation thread

Said new car, talk of it has hushed very much since the delay, and time, its getting what seems to be forgotten, could be a OK thing seeing the wait,

BUT talking of it, man it would be neat to have this, still not sure if its a EV, Looks like one,

Funny how Gabe back in the OLD days made the SBR range, in 2012,

YET the EV in 4-door ( thanks AI ) still looks like it could be sold new in 2026 not just me is it,

Off topic i know, but yeah, Funny how it was hated in the day, now i think it looks new age in a good way

OT i think this new car will have EV and ice maybe hybid to i dunno

Ykw, I agree the sbr looks like it could be sold today, I don’t know why but I think it’s because it looks pretty timeless at least in my opinion?

Ehhhh, personally I sort of disagree. The SBR4 definately shows its age. Weird concept aside (rear-engined shooting brake), some of the proportions look off. The greenhouse of the car definitely shows its age in comparison to some of beam's latest designs. The EV variant just looks kinda ugly, imo, reminds me a lot of a design you'd see on automation, especially with those wheels. KLJP's facelift SBR4 looks incredible, though, or at least the front fascia of it. If beamng ever remasters the SBR4, I hope they take notes from KLJP.

 

All they really need to do it lower the rear portion of the roof. All the other proportions look realistic, but that roofline is oddly bulbous. It looks more like a sedan than a shooting brake

Like, fully agree, I'd love to see some kind of salvage yard Frankenstein creation hackjob out of the SBR (or more of those in general), but it would absolutely be in the same territory as the Scint-iesel and the Unstable. Unless you're suggesting they make an entire other factory powertrain layout, which would probably be a similar amount of work as creating a whole new car, and imo would kinda kill a lot of the novelty and uniquity for me; the SBR's weird, and weird is good.

My idea was aftermarket, same as the offroad Scintilla; just some guy with a sawzall who embedded, i dunno, a 200BX drivetrain

I had always thought that the new car would be a 370z (on page 3880), or a FWD sporty car. Now that the comparison between the SBR, it does kinda look like one to me. pretty cool.

 

why is it a SEDAN? How did you SEDANIZE the SBR4?

The 4 means the cylinder count and/or AWD, not the DOOR count

 

I still think the new car is gonna look like this below, I did this in photoshop when it was first announced & I really like it.

(Disclaimer this is not official, just my own personal concept of what i imagine it to hopefully look like)

 

Wow this looks nice, but I guess the head- and taillights will be more modern

 

I'm really assuming it will be a 2 door maybe K-series competitor, maybe with a removable top like the scintilla
