it feels like there's a lack of mods because people keep making threads about vehicles, and you look at them, and it's either a poorly done 5 minute model of the whole shell, or a model ripped off sketchfab with people hyping it up like it'll be the next big thing
I think one way to help with discoverability would be to have Automation mods tagged with the vanilla features they support. That way, the devs could create a system that increases the visibility or ranking of Automation mods that go through the trouble to add features that don't come with the converter.
It would be better, there's already a tag system, the problem is that no one really uses it and that the forum's search features suck.
I do have to say that does get harder and harder to do, the more mods there are, and I believe that the expectations also kind of seem to skyrocket. I've been playing Beam for a while and i have made some of my own mods. I remember pretty well that some while back it would even matter less if you made Engine and Parts mods which wouldn't even have special models and people would enjoy them a lot. I feel like the expectations to mods regarding the details have gone up, even if that may just be the modders to themselves. I sometimes also feel like some of my recent mods would have been more popular a while back, as they are more technical and tools to use. I think the community itself has just shifted as the game has become less niche maybe --- Post updated --- That has always been terrible and im actually surprised it has never really been improved I would say more filters to search the repo and the forum would benefit it in general. It wouldnt be the hardest thing to implement but it would help usability a lot And the problem with that is that you only have some available ones and you cant make your own. I think if you could make custom ones, you could make it easier to search for modded cars f.e. which belong to a custom lore brand or whatever
Mods like the Variety Mod, WBIMP, covet blitz, etk s series, etk 1300 series, cjd special tunes, covet blitz, grand marshal coupe, miramar z coupe, bolide corse, sbr4 facelift, auriga, and the list goes on... I kinda miss those, although the game has improved a lot since, and there are great mods that were not even possible back then.
What's funny is that I'm pretty sure there there used to be a list of people who have made the most mods until the Automation category came out and the top Automation creator had over 100 "mods" while the next most actual modder had only around 10 mods.
Yeah I remember that, before they removed it, some modders were at like over 200 mods created and the good quality modders are out there in the community but you need to know where to look
I'm just looking more, and I'm just dumbfounded. Am I going nuts or am I struggling to remember a mod that really changed the game at all? It just seems it's a lot of low-effort or simple mods that don't really bring anything that changes the world.
me, looking at this thread and realizing i might become a new modder i did see a post somewhere that said that this year has lots of great mods (they mentioned mods such as the AW Bug and stuff like that)
