i wonder why... because BeamMP is an independent entity that BeamNG has 0 control over. Surely it might be a major pillar, but they have their own staffing, etc
this may be a hot take but i think BeamNG has control over BeamMP, especially if it's using their simulator and threatening the computers and Steam accounts of their players.
"using their simulator" hmm, does that mean Assetto devs have control over CSP because it uses the game as a base? even then, this does not mean a developer has control over a mod that is community made.
It's not a hot take. It's an incorrect take. BeamMP isn't even on the repo. Basically it means use it at your own risk
From our perspective it's kinda just like a third party mod, like any other. One with significantly more work and money put into than average but still. So like with any other infected mod incident, the most we can do is warn the players to be careful with mods. We can't influence the actions of the mod developers, we have guidelines for the repository but it's not a repo mod so we have no legal control over it
They have the file as .msi vs .exe which is giving some people a warning, but it is perfectly safe to download. Or you can play offline until you feel more comfortable. But we're telling you BeamMP is good to go.
