The last time they did it for a new vehicle (or a refresh/remaster) was for 0.28, almost three years ago. I highly doubt that this new car will not release in 0.39 - it looks finished enough, and since it's a modern Cherrier, it'll likely re-use a lot of parts from the FCV, making development faster. This isn't nearly on the same caliber as the Scintilla, which took at least six months to complete because it was so complex. It's basically Cherrier's K-Series or Wendover or Wigeon - and honestly, I am here for a FWD compact sport coupe. We don't have that type of vehicle in the game yet - even though it was very common in the '90s and still had a fair few competitors in the 2000s and 2010s. Honestly, I kinda hope we get more of this sort of vehicle - taking current parts and slapping them into a new body that covers a new niche. I already mentioned that the BX platform could be used for a '90s RWD performance sedan, and there's a few other opportunities among the roster. For instance, a van or an Abarth/Alpine-like coupe using the Piccolina drivetrain would be ballin. Perhaps this new coupe is a "trial run" for these types of vehicles, to see if people will like them. Even after the FCV came out, we still got the Wendover and Wigeon before 0.27, so there could still be a couple classic vehicles in this new era.
Yeah, but even if they do add more classic cars (which is unlikely), it's even less likely that they'll be European. I think that's a shame, because they could add some seriously cool cars. They could add old exotic cars (like the Lamborghini Miura, Ferrari 250 GT, Mercedes 300SL, Iso Grifo...), as well as sports cars (like the Alfa Romeo GT 1300, Fiat 124 Spider, Porsche 911 or Lancia Fulvia - which would also be great for rallying, along with a classic Mini) and of course regular every day cars, like the BMW E9, Audi C1, Lancia Flavia... They could even add some stinkers like a Trabant or Hillman Imp All lore friendly, of course. It just feels like there's so much potential with classic European cars, and yet they basically abandoned them after releasing the Piccolina and Stambecco...
also the and that even tho Beamng is a German Company mostly ist just US Classic Cars cool and all but i prefer like u mentioned Old European Classics like a 300SL,Lancia Delta, or old Opel Kadetts etc
That is very true that we could use more classic Euro cars, and I was thinking that maybe, a muscle GT (similar to the Grifo or Jensen Interceptor/FF) would work nicely, since there wouldn't be a need to model a new engine. But I think that most people would want - or even expect - a '60s Euro GT car to have a V12 (or at the very least, not a US-built V8). Which is perfectly understandable. I think that the devs are waiting to get some proper V12 sounds before adding a car with that engine type to the game - they took several years to add a V10 to the game, for instance. A Trabant (or any other classic Eastern-Bloc vehicle) would be ballin, but getting two-stroke inline-two sounds would probably be difficult. There's a reason why the Wydra uses an inline-three instead of an inline- or V-twin.
Yeah, if they ever add such a vehicle, I think it should definitely have a V12. A slightly crazy one, with 6 carbs and a very high redline. I was just adding the Grifo as a sort of design inspiration, I guess. And for the lore friendly Trabant, it doesn't necessarily have to be a two stroke, just an objectively horrible, slow car made of plastic, with horsepower so low, it makes the Pigeon seem like a supercar Also, I wonder if they still suport AngeTheGreat's engine simulator? That would be pretty cool for new sounds
Speaking of Ange's Engine Simulator, has anyone gotten the inside scoop on his progression with it? In his recent video, I had to do a double take when he made comparisons between the sounds of his sim and comparable cars. I'm speculating the devs would use his sim to collect sounds like they currently do (not run his sim with Beam since that'd probably have a noticeable performance impact).
I made a post about this already, but I series would be a prime candidate for that if it gets refreshed/remastered. I series could get diesels along with larger, more powerful engines (for non sporty, regular TT Sport and/or Rennspecht configs), while TT Sport Evolution confings are relegated to smaller coupe/two door (E30 two door or if Audi B2 Coupe/Quattro if they are going to keep Audi influences), not to mention that this smaller car would be perfect for FR layout Group B car, and we lack that currently. As for Piccolina, it would make sense, there were coupes/roadsters based on mechanicals of small Fiats, such as Autobianchi Stellina and coupe/roadster/berlinetta versions of Fiat 850, and since Piccolina also takes inspiration from air cooled VWs, something along the lines of Karmann Ghia and Porsche 914 would make sense too.
I'm kinda struggling to believe your post, tbh, because I tried to process the image as far as I could and I still couldn't see the French slogan... (I can't upload any image because it asks me for two-factor authentication and I have no idea why I shouldn't upload any photograph because of this)
I seriously think the new car is going to be a 370Z, the body of the car is almost the same as the IRL counterpart. made these little images comparing them
Spoiler alert: we like every vehicle BeamNG creates! --- Post updated --- Nice comparison, but the dash/cowl-to-axle ratio is still much shorter on the teased vehicle. Related to the rear end of the front wheel, look how much further back the base of the windshield is on the 370Z compared to the teased vehicle. The teased vehicle is clearly FWD!
Inspired by the 370Z, it could be a remaster of the SBR4, as I mentioned before. I find that somewhat unlikely, as in my mind there's a chance it could be a new car, but that's just speculation, since the SBR4 is a Japanese car and the 370Z is also a Japanese car.
I should have noticed that! I got my first car (FWD) a while ago and didn't really notice that, and looking back it does look like a FWD car, thanks!
My dream of a 2 stroke V12 for the T-Series will remain on hold then On a more realistic note... While I keep seeing an Prelude when I look at that teaser, the most realistic option at this point seems to be a Cherrier take on the 3rd gen TT/what-if 4th gen TT, surely with some "what if the RCZ existed in 2026" notes since it is French and all. It's safe to say this will borrow a fair bit from the FCV platform, maybe laying on an updated-for-2025/6 version. I'm certainly glad to see a second Cherrier finally and am always welcome to see some platform cousins in game, though I do hope we see some of the brand's history explored at some point. I believe this means all of the currently in production cars in game will still belong to Cherrier. If this is a 2026MY car like I suspect I really am interested to see how it will compare to the Audi Concept C, especially with that being shown about 6 months ago so this thing would have been fairly early development at the time
I think so far theres 4 platforms in the game (if the nine counts) but besides that we have the LeGran/Wendover/Lansdale, FCV which is the Vivace/Tograc/new coupe, and then the Gavril D/H/Roamer and the Grand Marshal might use that platform but I would be wrong, I don't think thats realistic. I do like these little details, especially how they share engines. Definitely adds more realism to the in game brands. Now I'm curious if we'd ever see a rebadge or brand partnerships one day
He's been really quiet for a while now... I wonder if the devs have already started experimenting with it, last time I asked it still needed some work: But that was a veeeery long time ago
This is what i thought too! Definitely not the 350z, the 370z is so much nicer! Everyone would love it ngl.
