say for example this image its low res now with ai upscaling (admitedlly this is way worse than i was expecting and frixes stuff was slightly higher res so the text was readable) but its not really upscaling, its just smoothing it out and it looks nasty, it also sometimes missrepresents details and makes it just look wrong + for a paid mod i expect that if you are using ripped models and textures, at least improve them manually??
Depends on the case tho, that text was sorta readable, but I don't think the ai can guess details with logos or something so low res and jpgged that there's just not detail. which is where it was most obvious in the ai upscaled textures
Even if there is no possibility of being sued by Gordon Murray Automotive, there is also a possibility of being sued for intellectual property rights by companies that used it as a sponsor sticker such as Fanatec or Philip Morris. What are you going to do about that?

Thank you for a detailed example, I see. I also tried it myself and gotten the same gibberish result sometimes
whilst I do not agree with Frix's business practices, I can say that this free car specifically is actually incredibly good. It handles really well, sounds damn near perfect, and hell, it even drives well when your cruising. The Scintilla wishes it was this nice to drive
AI upscale can look just fine, it depends on the method, the detail on the textures and how much you upscale it. I use upscale on a few projects I am involved with. When done properly and with edits, it's a good resource and tool.
