    I'm not sure what exactly is the "flash" mentioned here, do you have a video or reproduction steps?

    Hello, do you get an error while running the script? Or does the desktop file not work or some other problem?

    Watch when the mouse cursor dissappearing when not being moved, once it fully hides and you move the mouse again for it to come back it create the black flash/flicker, only happens in borderless/fullscreen mode, windowed mode is fine since it never dissappears.

    Happens on both X11 and Wayland, I'm running Wayland on KDE Plasma in the video.

    also this may (or may not), be of interest for you's

    Very similar behavior on a computer that has a Radeon 6800XT (HDMI to television). My main gaming system with Radeon 9070XT (DisplayPort to monitor) does not have this issue.
    Both systems running Fedora 43, KDE Plasma Wayland. Mesa 25.2.7. Kernel 6.18.7. Adaptive sync disabled on both systems.

    Fault happens, when I move the mouse cursor or when I move the camera with right mouse button.

    Thankfully systemd still generates logs even if the system locks up (to the point I can't access tty), performing a soft reboot from the tty with systemctl soft-reboot works most of the time (the lock up isn't always total).

    BeamNG is terribly unstable on my system often crashing after just a few minutes. The Linux binary was always unstable for me pre this bug (it would eventually crash after a few hours if the memory leak didn't catch up first) however this takes it to a new level, I just hope this isn't the beginning of the end for Linux binary. DeviceLost bug is present in the Windows binary as well (under Proton experimental).

    These tests were done on CachyOS but I experienced the same level of instability on Arch.
    I have an amd ryzen 5500 and an rx 5700 xt.

    I can't confirm if it aids a crash or not (the crashes are too unpredictable), but maybe playing freeroam with traffic or scenarios (why the f the "scenarios" are only legacy and "gameplay selector" are the main bulk of them is a separate tangent).

    Hello! I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but i am having this issue where if i customize a vehicle, i get "FATAL LUA ERROR: C++ exceptionline"error. i cant respawn or replace the vehicle, i have my Arch Linux system fully updated using sudo pacman -Syu. i believe this is a C++ dependencies error, but i don't know lol. i have 170 mods, almost all of them from the Repo (140 i think), i think about 20 from 2FastRacing, and like 10 from the forums. When i disable all mods, the issue goes away, but then i obviously don't have mods, which i want of course.

    If you want me to post pictures or a video of the issue happening or a log, let me know, i am more then willing to.

    NOTE: This does not happen when i use ProtonGE though steam, and i have everything set up the same, so i believe its a linux port issue and not a mod issue.

    EDIT: My system specs are: Ryzen 7 7735HS, Radeon 680M iGPU, 512gb NVMe, 16gb of SODIMM DDR5-5600 (limited to 4800 by motherboard, its a firebat mini pc)

    i speak from experience, and because from your message, you seem to be experiencing the exact same bugs i was getting.
    its so inconsistent, sometimes i cant even play for a few minutes without the game crashing and giving me "ErrorDeviceLost" hard crash.

    check your mesa driver versions. double check your driver versions, and update them if necessary.

    as blenux says here.

    i updated my amdgpu drivers last week to mesa 25.2.8, which is the latest available for linux mint i think? (it updated to 25.2.8 so idk)

    and since ive updated my drivers, ive only had 1 crash on a huge modded map, and it didnt crash again afterwards.

    i dont wanna jinx myself, but after a week without crashes, it seems to have fixed the issue on my end.

    to blenux, thank you again for recommending this, as silly as it is, i though i had recent drivers :p
    it made me double check my system, and so far its been running beamng well, and without crashes.

    All good, it's one of things you have to take into account with using a distro like Linux Mint (Ubuntu/Debian based etc), where they are prefer to take their time when it comes to updates (for that version cycle etc), which has it's ups and down, same can be said for having the latest drivers also.

    I just wanted to drop in and note how shockingly well the linux build runs at this time. With the 0.38 release it runs pretty much perfectly on my end. Thanks go out to you devs and the community, from the bottom of my heart. Linux ports really are a rarity and not easy to execute.

    I've been meaning to try VR again but mesa broke it on AMD. Still waiting for the next release which should contain the fix. It'll probably drop within a week.

    Thank you very much for the video! Cannot reproduce with my nvidia gpu, but I'll get and amd one soon so I will be hopefully able to test these issues.

    Thank you :) We are really happy to hear from your reports the native Linux experience is getting a bit smoother every release and hopefully the trend will continue!

    Hi, if the crash reports got generated in the `~/.local/share/BeamNG/BeamNG.drive/current/temp/crashReports`, you can send them our way using the built-in crash reporter, to submit an older crash report you need to run it from the terminal like this:
    ```
    BinLinux/crashReporter ~/.local/share/BeamNG/BeamNG.drive/current/temp/crashReports/<MINIDUMP_NAME>.dmp ~/.local/share/BeamNG/BeamNG.drive/current/temp/crashReports/info.json
    ```

    Or if you would be able to isolate the mod that is causing the crash (which I understand is difficult), we'd love to hear which one it is so we can test it on our side. Thank you!

    Hello again! Unfortunatly, the game does not crash when this happens, so no error log, but i did record a video of this happening, which i will attach here. Also, is there any way to generate a log without the game crashing? (if the video does not attach to my message tell me please, i have no clue what im doing im new the the forums lol)

    This^^^
    Ryzen 7 5700G, RX9060. BeamMP, CarRP, Career Mode, VR (Monado),Moza R3. Everything works. Natively!
    CachyOS and whatever version Mesa and other drivers it comes with.
    This OS and NOT running Steam in any snap, flatpack or other app package manager has resulted in the most stable experience for me.

    I've finally been able to try the game on bare metal instead of in a container, and it fails also there.

    Looks like a Intel mesa issue here, does it just exit out or crash?

    Hey, so ever since 0.37 I haven't been able to boot up the game, at all. I can boot up the game via Proton Experimental but there is a massive memory leak whenever I try loading in that effectively freezes my entire system and forces a system reset.
    I tried finding the crash report but can't find it anywhere. Drivers are up to date, safemode doesn't fix it.

    Specs: Linux Mint 22.3 Cinnamon; Ryzen 9600X, RTX2060 Super, 32GB RAM.
    EDIT: forgot to mention, I also have secure boot off as having it on causes a shitload of issues
