blew my 1986 volvo 340's headgasket during winter fun and did not notice the symptoms, kept driving with it for a week or two after it was close to overheating during some drifting, tried to let it cool but it took a while, at the same time the heater in the cabin wasn't blowing hot air anymore. dumbass me ignored it and it started running warmer & worse heater over time. oil seems fine as far as i can tell so i might be lucky? will attempt to replace the headgasket soon
Didn't do anything to my car but I did recreate it in beamng. The mod only has the other variant of the wheels
If I'm going to drive a shit box I can at least improve it... Same with the other side, we were getting better at welding thin metal by this time around Ooooh yeah, about time i did something about this rust, now i just need to fix base of the A/B pillars and the sill end caps then its (mostly) rust free !
Drove my E66 to the workshop because it started leaking gearbox oil. I also ordered over 600 euros worth of parts for it so i now can do the first maintenence of it in my ownership
I leased a new one a few days ago (actually my dad, I own a Pacifica) It's a Jeep Avenger. Got it all the way from the North, as there is no Jeep dealer near our location.
Did a compression test Very cool to add the numbers down onto the book that one of the previous owners had written their findings in from 56 years ago
Did the big service on the 7 series. 2 days of work and im still not done as i had 2 new issues develop because the PDC stopped working and the brake light switch was done. All in all i now did all filter gearbox and engine oil all light bulbs and loads of other stuff she should be ready for loads of km now
Since I haven't posted here in a good while... fleet update :3 I've gotten rid of the SL350s finally, and traded them for... This fucking thing! My new to me 1985 Kawasaki Voyager 1300... STRAIGHT 6 BABY WOOOOOO Seriously, this thing sounds wild. but its fuel injected so that sucks a little bit... (this one is for sale. I'm currently doing a valve job on it and it will run perfectly) The second bike I acquired, a 1996 DR650 This one was in a small crash then parked. I've been trying to get it running and riding, but the stator was bad and both the new ones ive gotten don't work. This one will hopefully become the daily to keep the miles of the GS1000 And the final machine I've adopted, a 1980 GS850G (no good solo pics of it yet, so enjoy both the 850 and 1000 in the same photoshoot) This one will proabbly be the boyfriend bike eventually. Or something I can put my friends on to ride to bike nights and stuff. but Its pretty cool. As for my LT250ef, its torn apart again. The transmission had an oopsie but hopefully itll be fully fixed for a good long time And the GS1000, Literally just works. Can't wait to be able to (Legally) ride it places Anyways, thats about it.
Checking my fuel milage has netted me about 25 mpg in normal running into town and back driving, on long drives that goes up up 28 mpg. That's a lot better than the 16-18mpg i was getting a year ago, I guess constant tuning eventually has it benefits...
Jacked up the rear on jack stands as the rear rotors looked like crap. Found it needs pads and rotors. Couldnt find any at any parts store so ordered online. Bought a gallon of brake fluid so i can flush the nast 30+ year old brake fluid out after doing brakes. Bought wd40 n some brake clean and lubricated the door hinges and cleaned the dirt out of the door latches. Replaced the factory air filter that was still in the car. Found a old news paper from 1981, Found a old survival book, and found writing on a notebook from the original owner that said change oil every 10,000 miles. So uh thats not ideal but sure. Ordered a transmission filter & gasket kit. Bought some new power steering fluid im gonna exchange the old with, and i realised i need to pick up a serpentine belt before i drive it to. took some pics of the news paper but im in em soo yea.
