I must say I like that the game knows when you plug a controller in (ie xBox 360) and that you don't have to restart the game to get the controller to work if you plugged it in after you started the game. As before you had to restart the game to use the controller if you plugged it in after starting the game. (Yes I feel I needed to clarify) Also cool that it tells you that you plugged it in, nice edition.
I'm glad you clarified this because of that exact issue I quit using my 360 controller! Good to hear this.
If you're in fullscreen, ALT+TAB then press F11 to open the editor and F11 again once editor has loaded fully. You should now have your UI back in working order... I am guessing after the WIP Parts Menu is closed it forgets(DEV DERP?!?!) to call the UI function again. not sure if ALT+TAB will get you back into Fullscreen, previous versions for me use to render a black screen which couldnt be alt+tabbed out nor would it show task manager over it because it was a fullscreen application rendering me to reset my PC. To get back to fullscreen, either options menu will work, just have to now untick and retick the fullscreen option, if you were already in windowed mode, viola.
I have noticed one some cars after turning on the headlights and turning them off, a sort of "parking light" thing happens where all of the marker lights stay on. Even after reseting it (not reloading it). Which is weird because parking lights aren't even a thing in game...or maybe this is happening because they are becoming a thing? It also seems as though the covet does not want to let its brake lights break too easily...
The right turn indicator light on the Moonhawk seems to automatically be turned on with the lights. The actual indicator is not on though. The parts configurator is still buggy and for some reason I can't get the T-Series gauges to work. I have cleared my cache three times already and they still have no textures. I'm using version 3.7.7
I already verified the game cache but that didn't work either. I'll try redownloading tomorrow as it's quite late here now.
If I change the front wheels to something different then change the back the front wheels go back to the original wheels. So I can't have to of the same wheels if I change them.
Mk so im rather confused how, with all due respect, the version prior to 3.7.7 worked fine and now 3.7.7 does not. For me personally, the instability with the Semi wasn't fixed. The new wheels (pressure I think) cause instability with the sunburst when hitting fixed objects, such as the new skidplate posts in gridmap, at high speeds. This might just be due to the fact that these posts aren't very wide. Just a guess. The new wheels for the rally covet are muy bueno, as is the new friction changes. This may or may not have been intentional, but driving at night is no longer disgusting and I can actually see things with my headlights now. It also doesn't drop performance, but that's not a big worry for me cause my computer is swag, nuff said. Keep up the good work, it's appreciated. ps- all of the community mods are removed post startup. i dislike this new integrity check. its messing up my everything and i wish to disable it. pss- to the guy below me, i shouldn't have to reinstall it, that's equivalent to asking "did u turn it off and then back on again?" like no stop PSSS- the covets wheels do the same thing.
Contrary to everything everyone else is saying, 0.3.7.7 is the best update yet. That handling is 40x better, and ALL of the cars now behave 95% like reality. The game is now comparable to other racing games, and is simply amazing. Covet now really mechanically oversteers, and power understeers, the Bolide can now corner at throttle, the cars can accelerate up slopes without burnouts, etc. Drifting mechanics are much more stable, and more controllable. Suspension height and stiffness now actually adversely matters as opposed to the tire coefficient. Deformation seemed to be updated a little, as there was less clipping and more parts fell of in a realistic sense. Because I was changing hard drives, I reinstalled the game from scratch and there are NO bugs. No texture bugs, no instability bugs, no loading bugs etc. The part selector isn't perfect, but works every time as long as you make your part choice twice. ECU is getting better and better, same with Hirochi Raceway. Bunch of glitches are gone, like the engine kill glitch, and more. Mod loading is still the same, and first try all my mods fired up A-OK. Everybody seems to be having problems with this. So I'm really happy about this release. Really. Good job devs. - to others with problems - try a reinstall
As there's no new feedback thread I'll drop my thoughts here. AMAZING The new tyre model is incredible, tyres grip like hot sh*t to a blanket. Vehicles like the D-15 custom and GM custom are really driveable now. Previously they would wheelspin at low speed, and slip around at high speed. Now they still wheelspin like a bitch as they should, but when the tyres bite onto the asphalt once you've stopped spinning you can really notice it. I think my biggest gripe with the handing before was that the cars felt a tad too slidy at high speed. That is completely fixed now. The cars feel like they have much much better road holding, they're a joy to drive, and you can reach much higher speeds. Biggest and best handling update so far IMO Keep it coming! Ps: I'm looking forward to seeing how the police car comes along. Sirens, a more detailed paint job, and some smarter AI is going to make for some awesome chases.
This is by far the best update yet!! The new pressure wheels are outstanding and are awesome to drive with, you devs have really come along way Keep up the awesome work and I am looking foward to the future of BeamNG.drive!! PS: I love the new sport rims on the Grand Marshal and D-15
So this may be addressed already, but I could not find a reply after reading all 11 pages. IS there a way to fix the parts selector. It is frustrating that you cant edit cars, since that is a portion of the game. I love this update, but I cant use many features without the parts selector. Thanks for your work.
My feedback is simply this: The control is so freaking good now, I actually feel like I'm driving in a simulator now! To prove it, I tried to get a good lap in the Covet and compare it to my old 3.3.0 time from here: http://www.beamng.com/threads/11435-Hirochi-Raceway-Vehicle-Leaderboards-(Suggest-Cars!) I got (with a sloppy lap) a 1:46.9 Before the best I could do was a 1:52.2 Expect new leaderboards soon
Man i really want the T series cluster to show up, i've cleared the caches twice now and check integrity.. Really don't want to download the entire game again, my internet dislikes that. Did notice turning the lights on makes the dash show the no texture image.. Anyways this is the problem i have:
Delete the "vehicles" folder in My Documents\BeamNG.drive\ (not in cache, in the main BeamNG.drive folder in My Documents). There's a bug where it creates outdated materials.cs files in there and then reads them instead of the correct ones. Clear your cache again for good measure, too, after doing this.
Alright deleted the vehicles folder and now redownloading it via integrity on steam. Will clear cache also. Will report back if fixed.
