Hey guys Let's clarify the situation a bit. Some messages in this thread were removed due to multiple violations of the forum rules. While we understand everyone's frustration, this is not a simple topic, and there is no way to satisfy all presented concerns. Please refrain from personal attacks as this will only cause further issues. We've discussed the situation internally and issued the necessary warnings.
i know I must sound dump saying that but if ever you need someone to make skins on this beauty i can help I have pretty high knowledge of skin creatin as a former flight sim skin creator
Honestly, I think the Beam devs should put out a blog post clarifying their stance on paid mods to stop this kind of discussions.
Discussions on paid mods are not really something we should have to censor. We are okay when people discuss and explain their opinions in a mature way. And by now you probably are aware that we actually value seeing the community's opinion, learn what people like or dislike, see ways that we can improve, etc. What we are not okay with, is when people ignore forum rules, insulting people, derailing threads off-topic, advocating piracy, etc: it's possible to discuss paid mods without breaking forum rules. (we would also much prefer to not distract our limited available dev time with policing forums too much... it's of course part of our workload when we decided to have an open forum for the community, but we're better able to focus on development when people follow the rules )
First of all, thank you for your insight on this matter. It’s good to see that mature discussions are possible on this platform. However, I’ve personally felt for quite some time that paid mods fall into a grey area regarding whether they are allowed, mainly due to the divided opinions on the subject. I would suggest raising this internally and clearly communicating whether paid mods are permitted or not, so the community knows where it stands to begin with.
is it possible that that old thread about paid mods gets reopened and all paid mod discussion is funneled there, since it tends to just derail mod threads all the time, that way it is easier to keep an eye for it
