It's 2025 and this website has been a glorified daycare for years (which is why nobody worth interacting with in this community actively uses it for simple communication anymore)

If you're actively still using these forums and are not involved in any of the BeamNG community anywhere else for reasons as goofy as this, you are likely considered one of the children in said daycare

 

It's not about making a discord account, or even about joining the official BeamNG server, it's about not needing to.

 

I’m old enough to be the judge of my own decisions, thank you very much. I’ve always preferred everything being centralized to one place, not just beam but everything in general. Never liked the idea of having to sign up for this and that then pretty soon you have like a thousand different accounts. Plus I’ve never cared for the big corporate social platforms nor understood people’s fascination with them.

With that being said, I would prefer to not continue with this topic and put it to rest

Hello everyone!

Been hard at work with updating the segra and im expecting to release a major update soon that fixes pretty much all of the new bugs and also other under-the-hood bugs. There should also soon be a thread for the trailer project that i'm working on both here on the forums and on discord.


Just recently finished up an air suspension system overhaul, will now spread the weight across all axles much better when using a lift axle, amongst that, 5 cyl engine, 6 cyl engine with different sounds, tweaks to sounds, particles and parts, upfit and overhang offset stuff, lua changes and optimisations and a whole lot more stuff that i cant remember.

Although it is quite busy atm, starting my new engineering job in January, finishing up the trailer mod (which i mentioned should get a thread here soon) and the cab update for Segra, so I have a lot on my plate rn but im doing the best i can with the time i got.

Tweaked radiator strength

Tweaked rear suspension airbag strength

Replaced front steering torsion hydros with regular hydros for better control.

Added new air suspension logic to lua with new offset elements that raises the rear suspension slightly with a trailer attached.

Added new offset components for certain slots that are helpful for frame mounted stuff

Added smoothing to curb lights actuation

Numerous Jbeam tweaks on the front crashbar and steps, it is now considerably softer, should vibrate less and should deform better.

Optimised LUA coding for better performance and moved some of it to opcore for better compability for future mods.

Added new rear overhang part for the upcoming trailer/upfit mod

Tweaked upfit / stack offset values

Fixed mixer upfit chute breaking

Moved rims and tires to opcore in order to make them shared between future mods

Tweaked airbag values and fixed various suspension issues

Fixed a bunch of broken syntaxes and errors across all of the jbeams and html's to hopefully improve performance and to keep the log free from errors.

Added i5 mesh for the 8.7l making it a 5 cylinder now, part names have been changed accordingly.

Re-added the rear-most battery box. It was removed some time earlier for unknown reasons.

Reworked radiators and intake parts, now all engines share the same parts. this also means the muffling of both intake and exhaust now works as it should.

Renamed DPF unit to Exhaust After Treatment unit, for more realism.

Reworked front headlights and roof marker lights to illuminate realisticly, ie proper parking light / running light functionality.

Replaced engine sounds for both the i5 and i6. The inline 5 now uses the citybus sound with some tweaks, and the inline 6 now uses the new dump truck engine sounds.

Tweaked many engine values across the board to work better with the new sounds and to improve realism somewhat.

Fixed offset stuff for frames and overhangs, tweaked all overhangs on all upfits, shouldnt break anything.

Fixed broken container upfit frame, moved containers and resized container frame to new container size (yes this was changed a couple updates ago)

Full rework of the lift axle system, now distributes pressure evenly and more realisticly
