Well, thanks anyway. I'm hoping I can replace my hard drive with an SSD soon. Probably the last upgrade I do to this rig before doing an overhaul (replacing the motherboard, CPU, etc).

The error has nothing to do with my mod. It's the tyre wear and thermals mod and users are talking about that problem in the forum thread for that mod. It's happening in BeamLR because of restoring previous user options when the scenario stops which calls the extension hook onSettingsChanged which causes the error in the script CreateBrakeDuctSliders.lua that implements that hook function.

Other than that I can see an error trying to load a jbeam file without any jbeam data in it and there's a broken jbeam file in whatever mod has the folder "GB3_wheels". For the jbeam file without data I added a check that should avoid them from now on, try to replace the script userfolder/lua/ge/extensions/blrSlotTree.lua with this new version and then the log file should contain at least one line that says "NO VALID JBEAM DATA FOUND IN FILE" with the path of the file indicated after, that should let you know which mods are broken.

Hey, so this new version of BeamLR is having a few bugs. When I try to exit the scenario, BeamLR doesn't respond to that, so I either have to exit the game entirely, or boot up another session of free roam through the menu. Not only that, but when I boot up BeamLR again, it resets the odometer on my car too.

EDIT: The BX and the fatal lua screenshots show what I mean a little better, and i hope the fatal lua error and help inform what's wrong with the mod. Also with this fatal lua bug, the camera is no longer attached to my car, hence the camera angle for the BX screenshot.

Hey, I'm encountering another bug in the latest version, This time it come with mods. Wherever I try to leaving the scenario, It cannot respond and I open the console, It said " GELua.gameplay_mission_missionManager Couldn't stop mission, it's not ongoing: "BeamLegalRacingEastCoast" " (It's not just one map, all maps have come with same issue), But when i tried to uninstall all cars/parts mods from userfile and I enter the BeamLR, Worked and Leave the scenario has also worked too.

Is it possible to fix that?

Error screenshots don't really help me, I need log files. Especially if that error happens after you didn't manage to stop the scenario properly as that can mess everything up so that error could be meaningless to the actual problem going on. Do a clean reinstall of the mod in a vanilla userfolder, don't use any mods other than BeamLR. See if that helps. If it does you have a broken or incompatible mod installed. When you get the issue, close the game and upload the log files here.

No idea, I need log files to be able to tell. Considering you only have issues with mods I'm guessing a broken or incompatible mod is to blame. If you have the tire wear and thermals mod installed that's the one causing issues as was reported by someone else yesterday.

For some reason, it refuses to load my car. Its stats are showing, but the car isn't there.

It also throws up a Lua error message, which I forgot to take a screenshot of.

Hey I'm curious: what folder do you open to find the logs? I'm trying to find mine...

Alright so at first glance it looked like a broken mod but looking into it a bit deeper I noticed it's the extension hook onFileChanged getting called when jbeamIO caches aren't ready causing the issue, I've added code that should initialize cache tables as needed which worked on my end to solve the issue. Please try the updated script I've attached to this post and let me know if it fixes the problem for you as well. The script to replace is at userfolder/lua/common/jbeam/io.jbeam.

They're in the userfolder. The ones I want are those shown in the image. Launcher logs aren't needed and the file beamlr.log is mostly useless as of now for lua errors I only use it to print stuff that would cause the regular log files to reach their line limits. But before that try the updated script I've attached to this post to see if you were having the same problem, as it probably happened for a lot of vehicle and part mods. If not then send me log files and I'll have a look.

I'm glad the patch worked. Unfortunately next update is at least a week away as I'm going on a vacation starting today. Until I'm back you guys can keep reporting issues you find but don't be surprised if I don't reply for the next week or so. I'll look at them when I get back.

Went through the effort to get BeamLR set up on my Legion Go S SteamOS edition and have been playing it a bit while on vacation. Constantly swapping controller profiles between gamepad and mouse to both drive the car and to interact with the menus is annoying, but works. I should’ve gone for a steam deck instead since it has the big usable trackpads. Oh well. Mod is still a blast. Did a highway race and a delivery, installed a new radiator and oil pan hoping to stop the leaks, then blew up my motor overheating and running out of oil at the same time during a second race. Guess I need to figure out how the newer systems work, it’s been quite a while since I last put time into it.

Regarding the Bruckel Nine as a starter vehicle, I think the V8 model would be a better option. I realize that the starter cars are all meant to be really cheap and that a V8 car of that era is expensive in real life, but in terms of power the 4 cylinder is just so much worse than everything else that it’s kind of a necessity. I appreciate that it’s an option, I have a stock ‘29 Ford with a 4 cylinder myself, but I don’t think the 40hp 4 cylinder is a great choice for a mod centered around racing.

So after waiting for about 15 minutes for the mod to finish caching (I have a m2 SSD + 32 GB of RAM, and 70 mods), I drove off on my Cherrier Émoussé in Italy, headed for some diesel and witnessed a police Tograc turn the block too tightly and crash their rear door into a wall. They struggled for a while, back and forth, I got tired and tried going around them. They backed up into me, had the fucking audacity to ticket ME $ 1000 moneys and drove away... leaving me with the only 2 options of paying the thousand moneys (I have 20) or impounding my car. Can't drive away because my brakes are locked.

    10/10 average italian experience.

I'm back, will be releasing a new version with the patched jbeam.io script soon.

Please post log files, screenshots of errors aren't useful most of the time and this is one such times.

Yeah I don't think imgui menus can be made to be interacted with using controllers, UI apps should work but I haven't tried yet. You might have forgotten to refill the oil and coolant after replacing the parts as they might get emptied when you remove them.

I see what you mean and I agree that it's extremely weak but the starter vehicles aren't technically intended to be used for much longer than doing some delivery missions. In SLRR we don't even start with a car and that was originally my plan for the mod but implementing walk mode properly took a while so I settled for just having bad start vehicles as a means of transportation to get to the dealership and buy a first car. I actually like the different performance and overall upgradability between starter cars because it means we can't just always throw a big engine in the car we start with and the car you spawn with will affect how we have to play.

Just backup the whole beamLR folder somewhere and then reset career using the menu. You can also just copy and restore the beamLR/backup folder, then load the restored backup using the menu. I'm actually considering improving this system a bit to allow running multiple career simultaneously by having different saves in the backup folder, that should be relatively easy to add.

Even on a clean install, I spawn with no car, and closing the game produces a gigantic 20 MB error log, which I have compressed into a zip file and sent here.

You most likely have an incompatible mod installed, the error happens because blrpartmgmt.lua tries to call a function from my modified jbeamIO script but for some reason the function doesn't exist which shouldn't happen if the mod scripts are loading correctly. Pretty much only two things could cause this: another mod has the same script and overwrites my changes or the mod isn't installed correctly. When troubleshooting make sure you do it in a brand new userfolder if you haven't already. That should fix your issue. If it doesn't just let me know.

If the issue turns out to be another mod, what you can do to pinpoint the culprit is extract all the mod zips in a folder and then use the search function to look for a script called io.lua that should be in a folder structure that goes lua/common/jbeam/. If you manage to find which one it was let me know so I can add it to the list of incompatible mods.
